Server Disconnection ?
 

Ive been playing BF1942 ever since it was released and have had no probs, but now I try to connect to a server, and everything loads up fine and then it suddenly stops and exits back to the main menu saying "Disconnected from Server". Sometimes it happens straight away and sometimes it happens in the middle of a game. I have tried two fresh installs, with and without mods and nothing works. I've been looking around the net and there are a few people that are having the same problem but no one has posted any solutions. Can anyone Help?

why do you post the same thing twice ?

I originally put it in the General section without realising it, so I needed to put it in the problems section. I'm new at using forums so I'm sorry for the confusion.

could it be a problem with your internet connection?

That's what I thought but I'm running it through cable. I think a few other people might be having the same prob, there is a poll that asks about if people would like a patch for "Random Server Disconnection" here:

I've been getting this ever since I installed RtR and got the 1.3/1.31 patch. I tried the clean install and everything, even staying at 1.2 but that makes no difference. I've got a 512kbit Cable line and it makes no sense, I used to be able to play all the time but I get disconnected from server everytime I try and join, sometimes I get about a minute of game time before I get disconnected. I thought I was the only one... anyone got any solutions?

I am having the same problems with mine everthing worked fine up till the last month now when i ever i go on a server i get disconnected within 5 min any help would be appreciated

The same crap happens to me but it has done it since i got the game, i thought it was because i had 56k modem, (some of it was the prob.), I eventually got cabel modem. It will do it at the most crucial times, it ticks me off. I have tried everthing; nothing works for this damn crap, i wanna play the game and know i wont get my team killed because i just disconnect. That why i commando to enemy base to kill planes and vehicles. If someone depends on me sooner or later they push up daisys right beside me.....not a good thing to have on consious even though it is a game lol.

I finally got it working- i had to do four fresh installs and it finally got rid of the bug.....
