Installing PunkBuster with BF 1.6b
 

Greetings:

During my install of BF 1.6, I was asked if I wanted to install Punkbuster, and said "I'll intall it later." Afterwards, I installed 1.6b patch. Now, I want to install PB, but the patch for version 1.6 says that I have a newer version installed and aborts the installation and 1.6b is just incremental, so it does not include PB.

What do I do?

I believe you can get just the punkbuster files from this page and install them seperately;

I'm pretty sure that PB came with the 1.6 patch itself. With the patch installed, load up the game and see if PB there in the game menu. If it is, then just activate it and play.

Hi Big_Daddy,

He did say that when he installed 1.6 it asked him if he wanted to install punkbuster and he clicked the NO button, so he is either stuck with installing it seperate or beginning from scratch with the install because it won't let him go backwards.
