Those damned connection problems. Hey, I've been getting a lot and i mean a LOT of connection probs lately. It's like whenever I join a game I get connection probs 5 minutes after being in the server. I have a cable internet connection and all my bf settings are on high. I don't think my settings have anything to do with it though because I had them on high ever since I got the game and never got this much connection probs until a few days ago. O and i've got my specs but it's on a notepad document and theres a lot of unneccesary(spellling) stuff on there so if you want my specs tell me what you need e.g. video card and RAM or somethin. |
Re: Those damned connection problems. Well first off read this thread as it really does explain alot. As far as system specs go, maybe something like in my sig? Also things like...... Has your ISP lowered the bandwidth that you know of? Have you made any changes to your system, ie....software, hardware, bla bla bla. I had a bad problem with that a while back. I fixed it by running SpyBot Search & Distroy, AdAware, then running a Registry cleaner afterwards. Seems I had a nasty that would start up while I was playing & virtually kill my connection. Post any changes & some system specs. I'm sure we can help you figure it out. Chris |
Wargeek Do you get the same problem when you play 'offline'? Try starting an 'offline' game and see. If it still lags its probably in your vidcard settings. This will at least tell you if its in your connection. |
Re: Those damned connection problems. Ok, someone in another forum had this same problem as did I. I thought it was normal to get these connection problem, stupid me. Now, I'm pasting what I responded in normal, non-techie lingo on a possible solution: "I had the SAME exact problem as you. I thought it was normal that this was happening and asking everyone how it was possible for them to fly planes! The problem was that I had wireless internet. If you are playing at a computer, your best bet is to hook internet straight into your computer to fix the problem and whichever laptop you use for wireless internet will still work. If your at a computer that isn't near wireless router or your at a laptop, sucks for you, live with the connection problems. My Battlefield 1942 experience is 20X better without connection problems!" Hope this works! |
Re: Those damned connection problems. I play using a properly configured wireless router and almost never get 'disconnect' messages or disconnected. When they do occur, it is not the wireless router.I prefer using this hardware firewall. Start troubleshooting from outside the house , and then move inwards-check your connection at broadband reports.com(30 second speed test-I know I know, its not all about speed, its about quality too but its a start) or your ISP. I assume you've read the sticky at the top of this page of course.... |
