Moding Tools (not asking for them) So many people in this form have ask for the tools they need to mod, so I decide to make a list of all the tools out there (that I know of feel free to add more) and tutorial sites. Tools 3D Studio Max, for modling ships cars tanks are other objects (no link to demo could not find it) PS this cost alot of money. Adobe Photo Shop, Good for sking (only 30 day trial) Editor 42, For map making MadBull's Map Editor, good for making hight maps like the one above and for placing builds and other things Unofficial SDK 2, good pack of utillies for doing every thing, most are plugins but other are for makeing and extracting rfa. (there are updated 3ds max scripts at his website) Tutorilas The only on I can think of is this one. It has tutorials on about every thing you need to know P.S. The best tutorials are other mods and just going through all the files in a mod and finding out how things work. Good Luck and feel free to add and tools or tutorails. |

OK, I got Adobe Photo Shop But how do you make skins with it? If you can tell me this it will be greatly appreciated |
Does it have to be adobe or can I use Paintshop Pro? |
You can use any paint program realy that is just my favorite one. 1.And to skin you need a rfa extractor which comes in the unoffical sdk and the DDS plugin for photoshop so it can read the files. 2.Now after you get all that set up you need to extract the Texture.rfa file with your rfa extractor it should be in this director (EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DesertCombat\Archives) it can be in any mod folder not just desert combat. 3.After extracting them to an easy acsses place you now open photoshop and open the file that you whant to edit. 4.Save the file and then pack the rfa agin wiht the same name and put it in the director that you took it out of and start the game and see what happens. |
ok so once i get adobe photo shop and load the xtractor so i take something fomr battlefield than in adobe i modify it to what i want is this correct? :uhm: |
first you xtract the Texture.rfa to my documents or other folder. then you start adobe with the plugin in its plugin folder and tehn you go to were you save the Texture.rfa and find the skin that you want to skin and open it after you are done you save it and pack the rfa agin with the same name and put it in it's orginal place back up the old one of corces. |
