Default Changing vehicles in mods...

Hello, I have recently started playing BattleField 1942, and modding, and I want to do something:

There is a vehicle I want to extract from (MOD A) and put it into (MOD B), how would I go about doing this?

1) Ask the modmakers permission

2) come back and ask again if they say yes.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention that. I DO have permission from both modmakers.

(BTW: It is only a private mod anyways.)

Bah, don't worry about that, just spam.

To move a vehicle from one mod to another, you'll need to take the respective files from your Objects.rfa (coding), StandardMesh.rfa (3D models), Texture.rfa (skins), and Menu.rfa (vehicle icons). Then pack them into the correct .rfas for the mod you're moving it into.

Ok, well thanks for the response, but after doing that, how do you add the vehicle into a map?

You'll need to open the map .rfa file that you're adding the vehicle into. I'll use Midway as an example. Find the Conquest/ObjectSpawnTemplates.con (or Singleplayer/yadayada or TDM/yadayada, you get the idea) and have a look at that. If you've got the .rfa file extracted, you can open the .con files with a simple program like Notepad or Wordpad.

Now where it says 'ObjectTemplate.setObjectTemplate 1 ....' change the '...' bit (whatever vehicle it may be) to the name of the new vehicle. 'ObjectTemplate 1' is what will spawn for Team 1, 'ObjectTemplate 2' is what will spawn for Team 2.

Props to Jetfreak for the sig.
