Exclamation n00bish Question

I loved vonManstein's realism mods for v1.1, and was disappointed when they didn't work for v1.2. I've made all of the changes he made in his mods, but unfortunately, they aren't working. I've tried re-making them again and again, but nothing helps. When I edit the damage system in Game.rfa, I get a whole bunch of Windows alert sounds before I crash to the desktop. If I only edit the kits and weapon loadout options, I get only one alert sound before the crash. I can't figure out what could be wrong, does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking it could have to do with me making a mod of a mod (I used the M1 Garand for the US Medic and AT guy, I gave a Thompson to the Engineer), but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
