Unhappy Archive FOLDER .. Help

Well .. here is the thing .. whenever i download a Mini-mod or the blood patch it says for me to install it in battlefield folder/Archives...

The thing is .. there is no Archives folder in the bf directory.. and even if a create one .. it wont work ...the only archives folder is at :

c:\program files\Ea Games\Battlefield 1942\mods\bf1942\Archives

but whenever i install the MODS inside of it .. it still wont work .. ??

Is this because i dont have the original version of bF ?? My little sister scratched both my CD 1 and 2 , and my friend somehow got me a copy of it .. i dont know if it is because of that ..

Please help ..

I had the Blood Patch installed .. a friend did it long time ago and i didn't see how he did it .. after i formated my pc and installed it aggain .. didn't work

Stazak, you have a problem because the mods you are using were written for BF1942 V1-1.2. When they did the patch for 1.3 they changed the way the folders were arranged to make it wasy for mod makers to install and remove mods. Mods used to go in the BF1942/archives/(mod name), and because of this they used to overwrite some of the original BF1942 setup files, making it more difficult than it should be to install and remove mods, and casuing probelms with the "pure" server anti-cheat system. Now that there is a BF1942/mods/ folder BF will only work with mods installed into that folder, so bf1942/mods/(modname). You will notice that even BF1942 appears as a folder in the mods folder now, making it easy to update, add remove mods etc (just delete the mod folder) without screwing orginal BF.

To summarise, you can only use mods written to work with the new mods folder system, older mods will be difficult (if not impossible) to get working, and may cause you to be unable to play on internet servers even if you did get them working. Look around for updated versions of your favorite mods that have been written to work with the new system.
