As I said I couldn't remember I left the best instructions on how to do it. The fact is, perhaps you missed it or entered the same thing. Perhaps it is worth having another go searching.

What people before me where talking about is the problem with PunkBuster A and B, To solve this you got to follow these steps.

1) go to Control Panel

2) Select Administrative Tools

3) Open Services

4) Scroll down until you reach PnkBusta or something like that.

5) There will be two of those, one followed by an A and the second by a B

6) in the next column after the name, make sure it says that both of the entries are started. If they are not, right click on their names and select Start.

7) This solves the problem forever, well, maybe untill the next patch, when you have to do this again, possibly.

Well i still have problems with it, still keeps disconnecting, both are started.

Try this, it worked for me:

1. Use pbsvc.exe to uninstall PB (get it from the PB site)
2. Delete the PB folder in your game files
3. Reinstall PB using pbsvc.exe
4. Update PB using the updater tool, also from the PB site.
5. Start playing again!

Now can anyone help me figure out why 2142 keeps killing my pc with massive freezes that cause a POST loop? Seems like everytime I fix one problem a new one starts. Stupid f*cking game.

ok well i was the one who originaly posted this thread, and i forgot to reply my findings. sumone told me i ahve to actualy download a patch for punkbuster, all i did was google "punkbuster patch" and found a place to download punkbuster, after that its been smooth sailing

I had the same issues with Vista.
I kept getting messages saying I had Limited OS privelages.
All I had to do was right click the icon and select "Run as Administrator" and it will run no problems.

how typical of EA to blame PB...
there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this PB build, the issue lies deeply imbedded in the software of EA (go figure), they as the large and all powerful software giant simply blame the third party because they are still making profits...so why bother giving a shit?
STOP BUYING EA, plain and simple...the support sucks just as much as the software development team...
