ye i thought it was because of that, because this morning, i deleted the pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB in the system column of task manager, and it makes sense due to what the message said, lol. i guess i should just reboot and let those 2 process come back on again, well thanks for saying what it was. lol

I just started getting this message to. I haven't been on for about a month and now I'm getting the Packet loss message. I downloaded the new program mentioned and ran it and everything passed but I still get the message 6 out of 10 times maps.

ok, this is what i did to get the problem solved.
i deleted 2 process in task manager called pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB
these should stay on as they are part of the punkbuster thing
if they turn off or it just does it randomly by itself, a fresh reboot should do the trick, well that's what helped me anyway

note: if none of this helps then try reinstalling punkbuster and re-update battlefield 2142 again

the program that u had didnt work too many this in red. and a virse program on my cpu makes it hard to lower or shut off firewalls any other way to get the program to run?

I'm having exactly the same problem and whitled it down to it being my firewall (game runs perfectly when it's off).

Problem is, I can't find PnkBstrA anywhere in my PB folder. PnkBstrB I have found and have added to my allow list on my firewall.

Can someone give me a path to the location of PnkBstrA.exe?
It's either somewhere that's just not obvious to me, or I have a problem.

And to ALL you people out there, DO NOT add me to your xfire anymore for help. I'm just sick of helping everyone that has this problem. Everytime I login I have a new request to be added so I can help them with key packets. Post your problem here and I will try to help. If you add me to your xfire I will simply just say no to your invite. I've already had over 30 people contact me thru xfire for help and It just got old. So sorry but I will do my best to help anyone thru here.

I have been having this message for a while now, I have downloaded that program but it says in red "TIMED OUT". Also, when I look in the task manager, I only get the process "PnkstrA" and see no sign of PnkstrB.

PnkstrB doesn't start up until you connect to a server with punkbuster so you won't have it running in the task manager. And as for the program try dl it again and rerunning it. If that still doesn't work then not really sure as to why it's not installing for you then. Will think if you can't get it installed.

Hmmm... doesnt help. PnkstrB also doesnt start even when ive connected to a server.

Make sure you go thru all your firewall settings and antivirus setting also to make sure that those aren't blocking PnkstrB.
