Banned from Gametoast?

I haven't really used Gametoast in about two years, sans the occasional post or search. I recently found that I have not been able to log in, and the rank on any posts of mine I could find is "[GT] Spirit Guide." I've tried getting my password emailed to me, but the site neither recognizes my name nor my email address. I realized that lots of "misbehaviours" have the "Spirit Guide" rank as well, so I assume I must have been banned like they were.

I'd like to know why I was banned. Since I cannot access the search function nor my profile without being logged in, I cannot view my final posts on Gametoast's forums and thus I am unable to learn or re-learn about what I had done wrong.

I'll just leave it at that. If I decide to go any further and defend any possible actions of mine, I will only end up embarrassing myself once somebody tells me what I had done.

Whoever's reading this: Do you mind searching "Food_Eater" on Gametoast and looking at my last few posts? Thanks.

The account "Food_Eater" is not currently registered at GameToast. It could be your account got accidentally deleted or lost when GameToast was switching servers. It happened to a couple other members too. Your definitely not banned or else you couldn't even access the site. Try creating a new account and you could ask Guru about it if you want.

Periodically inactive users are wiped (although their posts remain). If you hadn't been active on GT for a long time, there is a good chance that you were one of those. You can most likely re-register with the same name, although those posts will not be associated with your current account.

When I try to re-register, it says "Creating a new account is currently not possible." I'm pretty sure I was banned.

Thanks guys, but I think I remembered what actually happened...

I THINK, in the fuzziest of my memory, I posted on Gametoast sometime in the last year with links to the mod files from three of my unfinished maps. Since I thought that I would never return to SWBF2 modding, I posted the files in hopes that someone else could continue the task. Now that I think of it, it could be illegal to distribute those files and Gametoast wiped me away and that topic without warning in order to prevent themselves from getting in trouble with the law. It probably says that distributing those files is illegal in the mod-tools documentation, too *facepalm.* I never bothered to check for replies so that's why I didn't know why I was banned.

Ohhh well. Problem solved. At least I didn't get banned for cussing everyone out or something. And I'm glad that nobody has my source files because now I feel like finishing those maps myself.

Guru recently disabled creating new accounts because of bots automatically registering but I thought he re-enabled it.

And for the rest. You would get a warning if you did something wrong and would only get an instant ban if you posted Warez or something like that. Posting unfinished mod files I don't think would get you a ban. And again if you can access the site your not banned. Banning bans your IP address from accessing the site. So I would just wait a couple weeks and see if registering new accounts gets re-enabled.

We wouldn't have banned you for that; in fact we have a whole forum for asset distribution which almost always includes stock game files to some degree - as long as they're staying in SWBF2 we don't have an issue.
