bf2 Mod idea.
 
How many of you have played Star Wars Battlefront 2 Renegade Squadron. well bassically I think that someone should make a mod adding all the new maps from Renegade Squadron into the original Star Wars Battlefront 2. I know they probably can't be converted but if possible some mappers should get together and remake the maps for bf2. I'd work on it myself but i've tried numerous times to get the mod tools kit working and everytime it gives me a error. I'm just saying this would be a good mappack idea.:smokin:

*heavy sigh* Gametoast in a way is like a boil in the FFSWBF2 modding community. I mean... it's too independent! All of the SWBF2 modders need to get together on the FF forums so that we may have a powerful, mighty modding community and crush all who appose us! Hm... I should use a speech like that when I'm trying to take over Ukraine...

I may get some flak for this, but whatever.

Filefront is (for us [Gametoasters]) sort of a noobie filter, its the place people first go, to learn modding stuff, and if the general lack of help on the harder stuff, doesn't break their resolve, then they can come to Gametoast.

Then most likely they will be a determined modder, who is willing to learn, and maybe, just maybe, read the documentation.

If you are a up and coming modder for SWBF2 there is only one place to go, Gametoast, it's where all the experience is, and if your serious about learning, then at some point you pretty much have to go there.

It would make no sence for the established veterens to abandon their comfy nest (if you will) at gametoast, where they are well recognized, and appreciated, to move over to filefront, for some eager new modders and request/idea squatters, when they can come to us.

im really into how you use different programmes and stuff to make mods and getting vehicle and object and character files from places and skining them and changing the weapons and movements and abilities and stuff and editing the playable game types and the command posts and the scripts and the overall way the product comes out as a modded level and it is just so amazin!

the problem is i dont have the experiance or the attention span to do it! :rofl:

So nvm... but i can see wat ur gettin at here. but i think that the best mod maps arent copied from another game, but created by the imagination of a modder (or a helper cos some people say that modders have no imagination -lol jkin). i mean who here has played dann boeing's (greatest modder ever) 'rhen var- temple'? it is one of the biggest, best made, funnest, cleverly modded levels i have ever played. and he did steal it from another map! all his own work (dann if u read this im not just sayin dis lol). and another map- ancient research facility (if whoever made this map reads this im so sorry haha). its amazin. really well designed and has loads of little extras in and lots of big ones as well. these are two good examples of maps that havent been copied.

So if you forgot why i posted this, it was just to say that designs for mod maps made by players are usually better that ones not, for numerous reasons.

oh yes and Zahadoom... clear off. Ukraine is mine.

You'll have to have Cuba instead.

Ukraine isnt good enought for modders like you. Cuba has internet. And if you're not a modder then im sorry you can have the Philipines.

thanks! you just inspired me to make a mod map of the falklands!!! there could be like a war or summin. and machine guns!

ye i get carried away cos the true fact is i am the worst modder in the world. i couldnt even do the second half of the tutorial with munge!

See, at GameToast even if you aren't that great, even if you don't mod but like the game, even if you never even played BF (Okay, maybe not then)You are accepted.
You go there, aign up, learn how to mod, are there for a month, and you get a name for yourself!
Here, you sign up, and if you know how to mod every game they have and post on every single thing you can, it takes maybe three or four months.
See? GameToast is centered on a certain game and we don't have like ten billionz of people signing up to spam.....


Anyway, my point is that if you can't mod, you really have absolutely no idea of the time it takes. I've never played RS, but it would probably take at least a year of several, well dedicated, veteran modders to make such a pack.

And that'd be if they wanted to accept your noobish request.

If I EVER meet a modder who loves to do exactly what everyone else wants them to do, does it well, and it HAPPY doing it, I must send him here so he can work his @$$ off making tons of ginormous projects for you guys that you'll keep for maybe a month or two.

yes... i realise that modding is hard and takes time... but i also realise, unlike most people that could indeed become modders in the near future, that i have the attention span of a dead goldfish, and so, although i know roughly how to make a mod and stuff, i mentally lack the capacity to. i dont have problems, i just get bored quickly. :uhoh:

Me too. I've kinda given up modding. So... instead I make crazy star trek battles with the free photo editing programs I got in order to mod (hint: avatar)

please i really need help i use the zero editor i finished my map i want to try i put swbf2 i click it and when it finishes loading it crashes and goes out!!!:mad::mad: i really need helpplz

y use the zero editor , i arleady fixed the crashing problem but then i cant click on the comandpost so i cant spawn!!!! it makes me mad :mad::mad::mad::mad:
i would greatly apreciate if some one helps plz!!!!!!
