They didn't say it could be used between games. A user inquired about it, and posted it in public to prove that it was legal for JK2 and JKA. The E-Mail made no mention of other games, so it can be assumed that it is illegal unless stated otherwise by somebody of authority.

You can interpret it how you like but by the finish of this map we should know for sure. I'm trying to contact Lucasarts (Raven said they didn't have the authority to decide; lucasarts owns the titles) and see if its legal. Unfortunately, their site is down so I'll e-mail them ASAP.

Ok so here's the deal. Lucasarts owns the titles and the modding rights to both games and since the assets were released publicly for both games, that means we are entitled to convert them.

so that means that russian modding team who just took KotOR skins and stuck them to swbf2 models are perfectly legit... stupid teancum...

Not BioWare. They didn't release the assets from KotOR go nuts on anyone using anything from it.
