Not bad dude.. Gonna be a cool gaming rig . Whats your current specs if you don't mind me asking?

Acualy Is Confusingkid June 26th, 2007 07:56 AM

right now i have to use my dad's computer, but the specs are
intel pentium D 2.8 ghz
1gb dual channel
320 gb hard drive
windows media center
and integrated video.
but it played fear on medium
lol
yeah its a dell xps 200.
it sucks
:D

Suprising that integrated video played fear at all... Going to be better with that new computer you are planning on

Acualy Is Confusingkid June 26th, 2007 08:07 AM

im betting i can play fear on high.
if i played medium with crap graphics, then fear should run high with no problem.
that vidcard is cheap and its really good.

Defiant001 June 26th, 2007 08:09 AM

Yea from the sounds off it fear will run on max, same with a lot of games, what operating system were you planning to put on the new computer?

Acualy Is Confusingkid June 26th, 2007 08:11 AM

xps home.
its already on the harddrive i have, and i dont want to pay for a new os.
so its good enough.
would liked to have media center.
but oh well.

Hmm, if its already on the harddrive you may run into some problems throwing it into a computer with completely different specs, drivers won't match and things won't work properly.

I used a harddrive from a dell gx280 in a gx260 because the gx260 would not boot when it booted with the gx280's drivers and copy of xp it was terrible, ran in 16 colours and at like 680x400, network adapter wouldn't run, lagged terribly. It ran fine in the gx280, but because of a few driver and setting differences it was barely able to run.

if i just flash all the newest drivers for everything will that work??

Maybe but it will never be as good as a fresh install of windows...

Acualy Is Confusingkid June 26th, 2007 08:37 AM

i definately agree with that.
maybe after a few years when they get the bugs out of vista,(and the price goes down) then i will get more ram and a better cpu and get vista.
it looks cool.
its just so buggy right now.
