I was re-reading the thread and noticed on your avatar and on your signature that you play Sof2; I used to play that game few years ago, but I can't recall seeing much bunny hopping. The only time players did the hopping was when they started the close fights with the shotgun which people where starting to call a weapon for noobs.
What i mean is, has there ever been a game where bunny hopping is or was so wide-spread, how come Bf2 is so different? what makes it more convenient a "good jump here and there"? here than in Sof2, Cod, CS...etc etc

best way to kill a bunny hopper is to lead them right above there head when they start jumping,90% kill

I seriously HATE bunny hopping in the BAttlefield series but its in a lot of FPS and I can relate to bunny hoping because thats what everyone did in Halo.

But I hate it on BF2. I just lie on the ground and shoot the hell out of someone and hope they don't throw a grenade :uhm:

The weapons in Bf2 are much different than that of any other game out there. You will also notice i list a BF2 server too. Sooo i play this game.
There is no such thing as a noob weapon. Just Noob players. And i hate using that word.
If you don't like getting kiled by a weapon, all the sudden people are noobs for using it.

There is no difference in this game as any other game. There are bunny hoppers in them all. The problem is , the CHILDREN that play these games set the standards for what is considered NOOB, while the ADULTS have to deal with the repercussions of trying to play a decent game.

If you would like a list of the games i play, have played, I can give that to you:
Rogue spear ( all pc renditions.)
Operation flashpoint
Sof 2
All of the battlefield series
MOH: alied assault
Mobile Forces
WW2
FEAR

I mean, the list really does go on and on, but like i said: IMO as a gamer , i ( and many others) have seen Bunny hopping in them all. You can thank the kids for it becoming more predominant in the newer games now.

While bunny hopping may be a part of online FPS games, there are things that can be done about it, as well as there are games that have done something about it. It is just that BF2 is a very poorly supported game. A prime example of this is Call of Duty which immediately fixed bunny hopping with the first patch. I do not believe you can easily bunny hop as well in Americas Army. COD2 as well does not allow for bunny hopping easily also I might add.

As for BF2, this is one of the aspects that truely made me lose interest quickly. Sometimes it is just pathetic to see someone bunny hop all over the map. Last time I play all I saw where people hopping everywhere they went. I just said to *$&# with it and loaded up COD UO, and havent picked up BF2 in over 5 months now.

It is just too bad there is not a realism mod to fix this, or if there is one that is being used widely. Considering how widely despised this is, it is a wonder Dice even allowed this in the first place.

Re: Bunny Hopping

yeah, bunny hopping is the pinnicle of not being able to shoot. and it pisses me off. and aaa whoever said its in every fps ever is wrong i play 1942 and bfv alot still and i rarly see some1 jump accrost a whole map non stop like i do in bf2. people will often jump if your sniping at them, which is more understandable then continious jumping, but you cant jump 9.8 fagillion feet into the air like in bf2, its how high you can jump in bf2 that makes it so problematic. in karkand or some other map with a b ball rim go up to it and jump, you will see that your neck goes above the rim, which is slightly absolutly ridiculous.
in a way bunny hopping is pretty much glitching. when some1 glitch they make it extreemly hard or impossable for some1 ells to kill them yet they can kill you. bunny hopping messes up your hitboxes so even if you get hit when your jumping around it wont hurt you, if your not hit in the exact right spot you dont die, so if you can bunny hop and make it super hard for me to kill you i should be able to hide in a wall with just my head out making it super hard for you to kill me.

the insti prone is pretty stupid too, they need to make it so theres a delay when you go from standing/crouching to laying down, like what they have when you go from laying down to standing. or make your gun go super inaccurate when you get down, then go to its more accurate state. then if people fall to the ground like a crip without the wheelchair and they just start shooting the bullets will go every which way insted of straight.

BUT all this homoness is fixable. its called Project Reality, its a completely kick ass mod where people die when you shoot them and no1 bunny hoppy. once you start playing PR you wont be able to go back to shjty ass reg. bf2. its alot harder then reg bf2 but its 10x better. it doesnt bring with it the frustration of shooting some1 in the face with a .50 cal M2 then having them jump around and shoot you with a rocketlauncher like in reg bf2. www.realitymod.com
