for the gameshell.com link, u will be able to play right away when ur download is finished n installed, gamestop requires n account to download. Reason i found that link to gameshell for ppl who dont have n account n dont want to hassle making one just to download one demo u can get from somewhere else.

damn, the gameshell link does work but when u try to install the data for the demo after u extract using winzip, during the installation it asks for disc 1..........DISC 1.......wtf.......sry guys have to wait tell filefront gets a working one or try to use the EA downloader which i dont know where to get because i just made n account on ea.com.

ill figure it out n update u guys on it.

I'm trying the gamershell link now, hopefully it works (if not, I'll try the bf2 disk one... its got the same engine so why not? lol)

no it wont work, tried disc 1 of BF2 too, hmm its just the file of the link that is messed up, so im looking for anyother link that doesnt require a "disc" to play the demo.

well after used winzip to get all the files, the install icon was there too (similar to other install icons like BF2). When u install, u click on yes to make a new folder in program files, i agree with the policies, THEN once u see a bar that fills up with green blocks, a pop-up comes up saying, "please insert disc 1, retry?" n there is a retry or cancel button. Disc 1? i dont know, i tried BF2 disc 1 but wasnt it, if u cancel the setup, it stops the installing but the install is the only way to install data into ur computer to play BF 2142. So........i dont know what disc it's talking about n right now im trying to find a site, link that can give me the demo n NOT REQUIRE disc 1 to install the demo. Ok?

i DO know however if any of u have an account on gamespot.com, u wont get this pop-up, reading from the comments on the site that is.

UPDATE 2: i found another site, i will download n let u know if it doesnt have a disc 1 pop-up in it that stops ppl from installing the demo. Try this link:

UPDATE 3: ok so it seems this link is taking forever, the best way to get the demo is to make an account on gamespot.com n download their because a lot of ppl r getting the demo faster that way then the links i have provided. I'm gonna make an account gamespot.com n download it.

this link, however, IS from the gamespot.com link i gave in the first post, it doesnt require an account, so i guess if u have n account on gamespot.com, u download the demo faster is what it does. ENJOY, this one hopefully should work:

UPDATE 4: filefront has it on their page, most likely the demo from their will not ask for disc 1, didnt even make an account gamespot yet, o well ENJOY:

this demo thing is really getting annoying:
started teh dl on gamespot at 9 pm pst canceled it right away after only getting 40 kbs
went to gamershell got 130 kbs, got to 50% completed then the download box closed it self
swore for 20 minutes
4 hours after teh demo came out re did it.....again at 50% box closes
now im downloading it off of filefront and am at 16% after 40 minutes...im getting sick of EA being gay and making us wait for ever on crapo download sites to get this...(for 4-5 hours it was only on gamershell and gamespot :( )

Im going with filefront then!....even though I was going at a fast rate with filecloud- it suddenly went back up to 2 hours again and been slow as heck ever since...darn.

I got this demo yesterday and I was surpised at how much fun it is. Titan mode is pretty darn cool. :nodding:

I'm not sure if I'll buy it yet, I'll have to give the demo a try a few more times.

I downloaded the demo at a french page and it works fine for me. Took me about 6 hours to download the demo and the demo is great! I just had some problems logging in but that's it, no graphic problems or something like that!

EA has nothing to do with download sites. If they have it and have put it out, then it is the " crap sites" as you call them that have bad upload speeds. I wish people would propperly learn what the internet is before spouting off.

dont worry. when i dloaded from gamershell it took only half an hour but it was a corrupted file. =(

lol i dled it on a dutch server, like 46 % populated, ran fine, then ran full, went insanely slow, i waited and my dad came in and switched off my PC at 98%dl:eek:
and the next day i start over and then boom; my limit is exceeded :D
actually its not funny...:bawl:

Ouch, that hurt that bandwidth alot. Does GameSpot have good speeds? I'm not very experienced with them.
