Award Requirements=insane? I was looking at the reward requirements earlier today...and I have decided that I want some of whatever DICE was smoking when they came up with this stuff...750 hours sitting in a Stinger to get the top badge? 6000 hours played for a medal? 250 hours played as a class +40 kills in one round for a badge! 18 knife kills in one round?! INSANE! IN-FREAKING SANE! Who would waste the time to sit in a turret for 750 hours?!?! You couldn't play the game and sit in the turret because there is NO WAY YOU COULD HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO. I firmly attest that anyone that possesses the awards that have INSANE requirements desperately need a girlfriend. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? apparently with the latest patch they made the requirements tougher. I was able to get a lot of badges, now i cant get any on a new account... |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? I just Got A Email Back From my Brother who works for DICE. He said it was most likely EA's Idea not Dices. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? No they are not man, really it is for people who play the game a lot. Over years this is planned for...probly the game has a 3 year life span. How long has 1942 been out and people still play it? I could only imagine what rank I would be......and how many hours.....same with Vietnam. Dont cry about it, because people said it was too hard before they let off on the requirment, not I cant believe they are too hard for you...wtf? |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? Damn EA. Trying artifically increase replay value with pretty pieces of metal and ribbon. It worked! *Runs off to get more pretty medals* |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? DUDE! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! 6000 hours! That's 250 days! Do you have any idea how long even a BF2 addict would have to play to get those medals?! |

BF2 is aimed at many different levels of players, and I believe that some ranks and achievements are actually meant to be impossible (or nearly imossible) to get. The whingers have already managed to get the rank requirements completely nerfed, after EA changed it I got 4 promotion 4 games in a row and got all unlocks except two, and I don't class myself as anything like a dedicated player. Basically, you play to your level. if such and such a badge is out of reach for you, your skill level or your time availability then don't aim for it. AK :smokin: |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? I suggest perhaps that the unlocks were designed for specialization. This is so you would prioritize certain areas of advancement and have a specialization. Would you be a top jet pilot, gunner, sniper, tank driver, medic and assult infantry man in one career? |

But in saying that, I too think the requirements are a little too high. A few hundred hours down couldn't hurt. I can't imagne people staying with actual BF2 for too long. MOD's will probably take over, even though BF2 is damn cool. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? yeah, the 750 hours on a stinger thing is just stupid |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? Look, I personally will never plan to get some of those awards. But my point is those who do....have no life. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? They are just trying to make it a real as possable and a few of the weapons that are unlocks are not even in the hands of the USMC or Army yet. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? Realistic? Don't make me giggle. If they wanted realistic they shouldn't have let privates fly jets or headshot wounds be cured by friggin SHOCK PADDLES. The great and all powerful BlazinUK, #1 on the charts hasn't come close to getting all the medals yet. And hes a COMPLETE loser. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? i heard that that account is shared amoung 12 people, that is why it is the highest. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? Sorry foir the bump, But I just wanted to add: A reason they migh have made the awards so high is maybe because they DON'T want you to "Farm" for them, they want you to eventually get them naturally. As such, there won't be the 10 hours Quake Effect of getting everything and calling themselves Profetionals. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? I disagree, I doubt they made them that high to prevent stat padders from getting all the medals, it's as apocalypse_kid said more having to do with how much time you want to invest into Battlefield 2. People who have invested a lot of time in Battlefield 2 have earned the medal or ribbon. |
Re: Award Requirements=insane? What I like about these outrageous standards for getting medals and badges etc, is that there is always going to be something to unlock. I love the Idea that ive been playing bf2 on anf off, and there is still stuff left to work for and earn. I'd rather play for another year and have the chance to unlock more things and earn more things, than to play for 4 more hours and unlock everything with not alot of skill, and hard work that you would need for some of the unlocks bf2 has to offer. |
