Award Requirements=insane?

I was looking at the reward requirements earlier today...and I have decided that I want some of whatever DICE was smoking when they came up with this stuff...750 hours sitting in a Stinger to get the top badge? 6000 hours played for a medal?
250 hours played as a class +40 kills in one round for a badge! 18 knife kills in one round?! INSANE! IN-FREAKING SANE! Who would waste the time to sit in a turret for 750 hours?!?! You couldn't play the game and sit in the turret because there is NO WAY YOU COULD HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO.

I firmly attest that anyone that possesses the awards that have INSANE requirements desperately need a girlfriend.

I just Got A Email Back From my Brother who works for DICE. He said it was most likely EA's Idea not Dices.

No they are not man, really it is for people who play the game a lot. Over years this is planned for...probly the game has a 3 year life span. How long has 1942 been out and people still play it? I could only imagine what rank I would be......and how many hours.....same with Vietnam. Dont cry about it, because people said it was too hard before they let off on the requirment, not I cant believe they are too hard for you...wtf?

Damn EA. Trying artifically increase replay value with pretty pieces of metal and ribbon. It worked! *Runs off to get more pretty medals*

DUDE! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! 6000 hours! That's 250 days! Do you have any idea how long even a BF2 addict would have to play to get those medals?!

Don't tell us we don't understand. You have 7 posts, you have been here since December 14th, I have been here since before BF2 was even a suggestion. Do you KNOW how many times this has been brought up, how many times yours truly has gone over and over and over the same discussion points. I, and many other here, understand exactly what you are saying. You want this to be a 10 hour game (like Quake4), so that after 10 hours game play you can claim to be as leet as ppl who have been playing for years because, "look at me, I have the same badges ranks and weapons as you"

BF2 is aimed at many different levels of players, and I believe that some ranks and achievements are actually meant to be impossible (or nearly imossible) to get. The whingers have already managed to get the rank requirements completely nerfed, after EA changed it I got 4 promotion 4 games in a row and got all unlocks except two, and I don't class myself as anything like a dedicated player.

Basically, you play to your level. if such and such a badge is out of reach for you, your skill level or your time availability then don't aim for it.

I suggest perhaps that the unlocks were designed for specialization. This is so you would prioritize certain areas of advancement and have a specialization. Would you be a top jet pilot, gunner, sniper, tank driver, medic and assult infantry man in one career?

Couldn't have put it better myself :D

But in saying that, I too think the requirements are a little too high. A few hundred hours down couldn't hurt. I can't imagne people staying with actual BF2 for too long. MOD's will probably take over, even though BF2 is damn cool.
