true, true... but that movie was good for hitting on the same topic we are debating here. It's a fine line between soldier and murderer, isn't it. We'd all like to think of the world as civilized and pretend we have progressed beyond the need for violence, yet we maintain a powerful army trained to kill people in several different ways in the name of national security.

But, like I said, I think "fun" was just a poor choice of words on his part.

That video is nothing like what daily life in a war zone is like. That is just a couple frames of a sanitized war being fought.

It's all good to say you fight for freedom, but know what freedom really is. Iraq posed no threat to our freedom, I highly doubt they had the capability to send hundreds of thounsands of conscripts across the Atlantic supported by tanks and aircraft without our knowing.

Oh boy, now there's a can of worms..... but here goes:

Let me ask you this.. how many thousand conscripts did it take to bring down the Trade Center? That is what this war is SUPPOSED to be about. In hindsight now, we can argue we may have been wrong or misled going in there, but I for one am still behind it, generally speaking. Tough one, though.

Right wrong or indifferent. we are there. But that is not the topic.

i will grant you perhaps it was his choice of words, that created the issue. Had he said something along the lines that he supports his country and would like to fight but is unable, and not mentioned it being FUN, it would have been handled a little differently.
And on this note it brings this topic to a close. :D :deal:
