I'm still holding off on buying this game though until I see patches that help. I'd recommed the same when the exp pack is out too. Let EA know we have standards and expectations. |

They should concentrate on getting BF2 PLAYABLE before spouting news of an expansion... and while yes I agree that not all games are perfect when they come out and I can live with that, I can't understand why with the previous experience they had with BF42 didn't teach them something.. S |

Re: Battlefield 2: Special Forces How eloquent.. thanks a lot, that post really shed light on the subject. |
Re: Battlefield 2: Special Forces whats the deal? BF2 is great! I dont get any of the mentioned problems. And as with all games, the edges are rough and will get fixed. |
Re: Battlefield 2: Special Forces Quote:
Most ppl play these games with no issues (including BF2), so it may have played fine for you, but if you were here helping ppl at the time you would have a different perspective. No game based on an entirely new code base have ever come out with none or few issues, games on a pre-existing code base have far fewer problems than their parent games. BF2, being the first game on this particular code base, will of course have many problems, and it's a well known fact that no amount of sensible intelligent beta testers can find the bugs and flaws that a single manic 13yo can uncover in a few minutes (no offense to the 13yo's reading this, but I am sure you know what I mean), and that's simply because they are not there LOOKING for bugs, they are testing the included features to make sure they work, thus Beta testing, not bug hunting, also you can't beta test 300,000 ppl all trying to play at once so the server side and stats were bound to be a bit iffy from the start, the same, I recall, happened to RTCW, even up to version 1.31 they were still "addressing server issues", in their parlance. Many ppl have have long experience of previous multiplayer games, and I, like may of them, believe BF2 is not unusually buggy for a first release. It's how those bugs and problems are addressed that counts. DICE have a good history of releasing patches to fix problems. The revenue generating add-ons, were, in my opinion, a mistake, and probably generated by EA pressuring DICE not to release to much free content, so it's highly unlikely I will be buying the add-on after being sucked in by RtR, also I expect features that are advertised in the add-on to quickly become available in mods.
