I can't believe this, those of you already looking forward to an expansion for a disfunctional game?
EA should at least finish the existing game before they try to sell us more add-ons.
Concept of the expansion looks great, and should be lots of fun. Problem is I already paid $50 for a game that should work fine, and well people...it doent.

First of all the expansion pack is being done by a different office/group than the one that does the patches. And no game with the complexity of BF2 is going to be be perfect by release. Besides you could have tried the demo before you bought it and you would have known what the issues were.

Ever heard of Call of Duty? Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Enemy Territory? etc.. All these games came out with hardly any of the gameplay issues that BF2 has. Hell, most of the time BF2 is not even playable, that is if you can even get around that horrible game browser to even find a game. Oh, of course there is a patch for that right? Oops, no the patch got recalled. People need to stop smoking the EA public relations dope and face reality.

The demo gave very little indication of how flawed this game was. Why oh why are people continuing to make excuses for this game? You are all like alcoholics denying they have a problem.
Fact is EA should be concerning itself 110% with fixing this flawed piece of crap before considering releasing an addon.
The base product is fine, if you dont like dont buy it.
I dont really like the idea of this expansion.
It's more about covert operations then about all out warfare.
And the grapling hook isnt my cup of tea, I have feeling its gonna be kinda the same maps only without ladders so you'll be forced to use that stupid thing.

Did you read what I said? I said with the compexity of BF2 this includes squads, commander and commander abilitys, built in VoIP, a variety of vehicles, 3 different map sizes per map, all the different kits, unlockable weapons. Do any of the games you listed have those? No. Also the browser is not entirely BF2's fault, almost every game that uses the GameSpy server browser has issues.
Almost any problems other than the server browser are you're computer, I've got an out-of-date 1.8 ghz AMD Athlon 2500+, 1gb (1x512 PC3200, 2x256 PC2100) of ram, and an ATI Radeon 9600xt 128mb. I get about 40-50 FPS in a full 64 person server and I never get any lag on a server that can handle the amount of players it hosts.

Well then return it, most stores give you atleast a week to return the game and get you're money back.
