its ok. The lag is alot less and the server broser is alor better, but there are still some bugs that are annyoing me personally:
People who cheat to get high stats
gay spy
6800gt, it feels like I am playing this on an FX 5200.
1.) I had the problem like many experienced, game would not start after the patch. After several repeated attempts to load the game, almost ready to re-install, the game suddenly loads. Very strange
2.) In game browser is 110% better. With the previous one, I could hardly ever find a game I wanted. Today I was able to get to the maps/player count/server right I away. But....
3.) Everything was still moot when I got into games. I went from game to game, but the same old lag. Add to the frustration of how idiotic I think they did the ranking system, it is even more frustrating. Before I had a clue on how idiotic it was, I unlocked a weapon I now regret doing. Because of that, I figured if I was going to play MP, I might as well play ranked so I could someday actually unlock something I would want. But it is damn near impossible to do anything with the way the lag is- vehicles floating through buildings, enemy appears and disappears at random, etc..
When I think about it now, I would have prefered to have the lag issue addressed MORE than the game browser. Yes the browser was the worst I had ever seen for a MP game. I eventually just went straight ahead to 2 different servers I like or know had the maps I liked and skipped searching through.
Personally, I have even more anger now at EA/Dice since they have yet to even acknowledge the lag issue as if it doesnt exist. I get the feeling that this game might not be trully ready until a few more patches, which says a lot about how these companies view the quality of their work. It also speaks a lot to the stupidity of those that think we should not be angered or upset...EA just gave the community the big finger and said "Hey, you morons will go ahead and purchase this anyways, so why should we bother beta testing this". Frankly, there is zero chance that they were NOT aware of how awful the browser was, yet still released it anyways.
I liked iD softwares philosophy of "Its ready when its ready"
The patch is worse. The browser now shows ping rates in the 300s when it used to be in the 100s. The scrolling is horrible and slow. And if you try to join a full server you have to start from the top again.
The lag is a killer, literally. The weapon accuracies suck.
they need to test a patch before its released, and if they did....
The browser is faster, but still bitchy, bugging and screwed with. servers pings are messed up. for some reason none of my favourite servers are there ( I checked their site to see if they had updated their servers to latest verion, and they had)
There has been several cases of people losing player stats.
And Im getting alot of 'there is a problem with your connection' messages
Oh and
Those stupid Nvidia drivers that were released with the game, alot of newer games not optimized for Nvidia do not run. At All. they are evil.
2.) In game browser is 110% better. With the previous one, I could hardly ever find a game I wanted. Today I was able to get to the maps/player count/server right I away. But....
110% better? So that's like, what, 1.1% working? Pfft.
I'm a bit dissapointed - I used to be able to type in WOLF in the server browser and all the servers that started with WOLF would come back. Now? I get nothing. I tried adding wild cards, etc - still nothing. Anyone else have this problem?
Firstly, they allowed you to bind many controls that you couldn't bind before.
Secondly, they did a great job on the in-game browser. It no longer lags, has more filters (like the ability to search by ping, finally). And the new "update server list" vs the "refresh" button is really great, when you don't want to relist the server, just want to see if the spot is opened. Furthermore, the browser no longer crashes the game during the operation
Thirdly, you can finally see the server IP while in-game (about time....)
And lastly, the loading times are greatly improved. It used to take me 30 secs to load a map. Now, it loads in 15 secs.
The patch did just what it said it would do. It was not a gameplay-fix patch, but it fixed a lot of issues and stability of the game
There is absolutely nothing more amusing than the guys who buy a game, play it, hate it, uninstall it... but still talk about it all the time on forums. Jesus, you'd think some people like bitching about games more than actually playing them.
