B*st*rd Producers

i hate this, the reason there is so many problems with this stupid game is just so they can get it out in time for summer for impatient little brats, i wish they had of released the game afew months later and made sure all theese horrible errors and bugs were gone, they are making the game practicly unplayable

I'm kind of with you on that one Tumerok89. You're kind of wrong though. EA released the game after bugger all alpha/beta testing with the idea of leaving us (Nerds hehe j/k) with the testing and reporting of bugs.

At least thats the way I see it:) Anyone see the irony there?

The game was originally planned to be released in Fall 2004! They actually said it was "ready" by then, but EA decided to give Dice 6 extra months to polish it, so the release date was pushed to early 2005. Then EA said they will release the game to coincide with their new fiscal year, so it came out in Summer 2005.

If it would have been pushed even more, i would have gone nuts!

it wouldnt realy matter... for starters.. id prefer it if they did not release it untill all the bugs are solved..

but realy we are waiting for that atm...

the game is practicaly unplayable and we have to wait for the patches to come out to fix the bugs...

so either way .. we are waiting.. but they have just released the game.. which is very unstable.

I have had quite a few enjoyable games on BF2, no lag, but then I always play on a local server, no problems with graphics, I have them all set low because I have a FX5700 card, I have experienced very few probelms, only once on map change has it ever crashed to desktop. It's certainly not unplayable, most of my clan has got a copy and we play with no problems. The BUGS are not really show stoppers and mostly relate to server browser updating and trying to play on ranked servers that seem to lag a lot, as far as I can gather from most ppl's reasons for complaining.

Speak for yourself. I've had a really old machine (P4 1.9, 512 RAM, FX5700 that worked in 4xAGP mode because of the stone-age motherboard), and the game run just great. Low settings of course, but it run extremely smooth.

Now, i got a brand new rig and the game just flies at the highest settings. Really smooth, no problems, no lag.

As bad as this release was, waiting for all bugs to be solved would be, I think, almost impossilbe. We never would have had Windows XP (not necessarily a bad thing). But, this game is well under-devloped and feels very un-finished from the many, many games I have played out of the box.
