"Official" BF2 complaint Thread

OK i have a few complaints about it.

1. Graphics are jumpy laggy even at medium / a few high settings on my ATI 9800 pro 256mb/bit.

2. Dynamic shadows are crap, they look pixelated and they Flash and just plain look like crap.

3. IT RUNS LIKE CRAP ON ANY SYSTEM.

4. the server broswer is jumpy and the game crashes alot.

My specs arnt the best but come on!! i run Doom3 and HL2 and top graphics MUCH MUCH MUCH!!!!! smoother than this game at low graphics... Thank you for another horrible inovation in gaming DICE.

Regarding point 3

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW!

All you have done is play it on your system, Away back to HL2 and Doom3 then BF2 runs smoth on my AMD 2 GHz 64 bit processor, 512mb of ram and a GeForce FX 5600XT on low settings. Mabe it was the server you were on. Ive been on a few 64 player servers and its been smooth bar 1 time when everybody on the server was getting lag.

Ok. My complaint: the key bindings. Its so annoying to actually customize them the way you want them, and sometimes you can't even bind a certain action to a certain key, even though the key isn't to be found anywhere else.

Ok #2 because almost everyone i talked to says they cant put it on high settings, even on a OCed Geforce 6800!!!!!! and also i have those same specs, cept i have a ATI 9800 pro and i can play Doom3 and HL2 at top settings and they kinda look better than this game to, but for some wierd reason i, and no one else seems to be able to max their stuff out, the only one person who i have heard being able to do this was a guy with DUAL Geforce 6800 pro's on PCIe and he said it still didnt even look good.... lol well what ever, i lowered my video settings all to medium, and it runs smooth now, but still looks t3h crappy, ESPECIALLY the damn Dynamic shadows, they are all pixelated and stuff

Right.Have downloaded and installed the demo but won`t try it because of this.
If this feature is in the retail version the game won`t be worth the diskspace.

AMD 64 Bit 3500
1 Gig Corsair XMS Dual Channel ram (2 x 512MB)
6600GT AGP 8x

I run it on max everything and not a bit of lag. The only complaint that i have is the choppers rotate very slowly. no circle of deaths :-(

Gunny.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about not being able to run the game on high. I've been running everything on high with no problem Perhaps you should not be so quick to blame EA for a problem that could possibly be with your PC.

Demo Demo Demo

Any one remember the demo for Bf 1942 That sucked ass horrible everything.
Anyone remember Bfv? (Bad example that still sucks ass)

Lol the way I see it. EA put this shitty demo out to lower our expectations and then blow us away with the real game
I just have to keep telling myself that (Not another bfv not again PLZ EA)

The release will be better..... ALOT better right?

My complaint (for the demo)
Wow thats bad choice of music, I really miss the old bf 42 music... I dont know why but that is the best theme music (In my opionion)

I also find the mouse controls odd. I dont know why.
As for all of the ones in the Quote I agree but wait patently for the release.

If this game sucks I am going to buy Bf 1942 (my disc broke) and I will never have to complain about another game again.

1) Medium for your vid card, you have nowhere near the vid card needed to run on high!

2) Drivers. This probem has been reported by other ppl with ATI vid cards and it was as driver problem specific to some ATI drivers.

3) Runs great on mine with everything down low except view distance and textures, I have a FX5600. Other ppl have it running well.

4) OK, point conceded, it does this for me to, will get fixed in a patch I expect.

As far as comparing BF2 to HL2 and Doom3, I see this all the time. If HL2 and Doom 3 had dozens of vehicles running around, 32-64 players, huuuuge levels (the ones in doom3 and hl2 are teeny) it would run as bad or much worse than BF2 on your system. You are comparing two completely different genres of game, a claustrophobic FPS's with small levels, corridors and small rooms as the biggest open space and 1 player and a few AI, with a vast panoramic battlefield environment with large numbers of players and multiple vehicles. The closest game that compares with BF2 is Soldner and ppl make exactly the same complaints and comparisons. Do not compare apples and grapefruits, compare apples and apples and see which one tastes better.
