Are you sure? They don't 'support' Windows 2000, but it runs fine on my machine. The list is only what they know will work.
I tried, it doesnt run, the computer screen will go black for a split second and then show me my desktop again .

Its not that bad, they haven't sent me any e-mails and you never have to visit their site...
Perhaps but i hope bitching about it might let EA/Dice come up with alternative in future patches.

Thats kind of stupid. Wasn't the part of EA that make it based in Sweden? Or somewhere around there, at least?
Yes, dice sweden made it, and they have those "fancy" letters in there own alphabet. The only reason i heard is because the EA database (keeping trakc of your rank) doesn't tale anything except for A-Z and 0-9. Spaces (this i havent'confirmed myself) and other "strange" characters it doesn't accept.
Oh and that with fancy characters it would be harder for admins to ban people, though they could just enter the player ID or select the player to kick him.. besides going that road you might aswell ban everything past 5 characters because else the poor old admins can't remember the name.
This rant, for now, only applies to the demo, but the graphics engine is kind of weak. It seems like choppy code. I have a pretty good system, and I expected a little better performance.
This rant is for BF2 and PLENTY of other games. WHY THE F#1K CAN'T ANYONE RENDER FOLIAGE! We've been seeing grass and trees for DECADES! It's not NEW! Why can't anyone seem to get something as simple as a palm tree to LOOK like a palm tree?
Well the amount of power required to render decent looking foliage in real time is actually quite substantial, so it's mostly a hardware concern.
That said we are approaching a level where we can begin to create some rather decent looking trees and the like now.
I grew up playing Quake, Xcom, stuff like that, and the progress we've made in just a few years from really blocky textures and the like is amazing. Give it five, maybe ten years and you probably won't be able to tell it's not real.
amd athlon 64 processor
3000+
2.00ghz-1mb of ram(ddr)
radeon 9800pro 128mb
2 meg internet connection
and this runs the demo as smooth as a babys bum on high settings
---------you say ur cooler than a noob???--------
---------you also quoted this game dont run good on any p.c????-----
A BAD TRADESMANS ALWAYS BLAMES HIS TOOLS----DONT FORGET THAT
Thats even after you installed the game you get a blank screen... then crashes back to the desk top.... Alot of people are having trouble with this.... G i can't wait to get the game in 6 days to only to have to go home and install it and o the game to crash... I think it's going to be another BV crap.
What ress. do you use 1280 x 960 @85hz med settings runs fine
when u press high setting 2 stay on med and 1024 x 768 @60hz if u change those 2 to high it kills the frame rate
The game overall is fine but they could do with tweaking the weapons a bit more dam. and acc. would do fine and yes i can aim Have you played AA way better weap. and acc. in that
My sys is fine to
3000+
1 gb ram
6800 128 mb
audigy 2zs
although i cant stand the drivers they created 77.30 they are rubbish but this is why they release demos right so we can try them out and they can fix the finished product
although this never happened with Novalogics Joint ops games there servers are pretty dead now so hopefully bf2 will live up to its name
Now hopefully they are listening to everthing we are saying and fix the game i dont want another paper weight when bf2 comes out!
Not being able to use certain keys when remapping them is ridiculous. Even after clearing every key slot, it still tells me "Duplicate key found" blah blah blah.
Only the 16 player maps in Singleplayer? Why not the 64 player map options. I want to fly and be able to maneuver too.
No CO-OP? Come on.
Machine gun fire sprays like crazy. Standing approximately 5 feet from a wall and firing rounds fully auto or sustained, DO NOT HIT 20 FEET TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT!
Other than that pretty good! Sometimes makes me want to play DC again though. lol
