Before people start off in this thread about how innaccurate/weak the guns are, try using ironsites and single shot mode from a prone/crouched position, you will find you will be much more effective. Also, the sniper rifle is just as good as it was in the other BF games, you just arent used to it yet. :D

Even the pistol can be quite deadly if used properly.

Ah yes, thats another thing. The ironsights remind me of America's Army, and for that game, my zoom setting is the mouse wheel. So lots of times when I get into a firefight, I'll try to zoom in, but instead change my weapon to my knife, and then just be screwed over. Its kind of funny, but I wish I could change the key bindings.

oh yeah, the pistols are great, they where sooo weak on BF1942 that whenever you had the pistol out it was almost certain death

now, its no wear near as bad

Re: "Official" BF2 complaint Thread

I have to admit, the game runs somewhat laggy even on great ping and my good system
3.4 GHZ P4
1 GB DDR2 RAM at 533 mhz
Nvidia 6800 256mb PCIe

that should run the game well but it has to load the start menu, and i cannot quit right out of the game, i have to wait a few seconds. The shadows are complete shit so i got those down and i only go to low ping servers. Overall it is a pretty sweet gameplay, there is something awesome about joining your squad of 6 attack the apartment building to the right when a chopper comes in and clears the way ;)

My complaint. It has a fatal flaw.
And what is this fatal flaw you say...
Gamespy, in order to play online you have to make an account with them.
For this reason although I enjoyed the demo I will not, at any price, even if it is free, ever own a copy of BF2.
Congratulations morons, because you can't be bothered to make your own code you're going to lose sales. You don't need my email address so that I can play an online game, I didn't need one with UT and I shouldn't need to give you one here either.

What does it matter to sign up for gamespy? An email everynow and then that you can force to your spam folder? You know Sloth is a mortal sin...

And as for comparing BF2 gfx to HL2 and Doom 3. D3's graphics are so damn good that there was no way to have any large environment, hence the hallways. HL's outdoor maps were pretty damn big, and they would run great all the time. I mean the buggy level? Cmon, it isn't that small. Also take a look at Everquest 2. The maps are bigger than BF2, all while provding better graphics.

That said, my gripes:

1. Graphics didn't live up to hype, still looks like a BF1942 with dynamic lighting and better modelers (this isn't a huge deal with me, i prefer gameplay over graphics, just stating it didnt live up to its HYPE.)

2. Physics are horrid. Also notice how real physics make the graphics appear to be better? In HL2 it did, made it seem more realistic.

3. Squads aren't that great.

4. The noobs that play.

Why should I have to though? These people want information that is not necessary for them to provide the service, I view that as an invasion of my privacy.
