Default Single Player BF2

I've been looking all over the place but I can't seem to find an answer to the question on the lips of those gamers (such as ME) who don't have a decent internet connection.......
IS THERE A SINGLE PLAYER MODE ON THE UPCOMMING BF2?

Another question: what type of connection is the best for playing online games?

And another: what are some ways to decrease lag?

Cheers!

To answer your questions as accurately as I can:
  • Yes, there is a single player mode in Battlefield 2.
  • Nothing slower than a DSL connection is suggested; a Cable connection would be most recommeded and ideal.
  • Make sure you have no internet-based programs running in the background or downloads going that will take up precious bandwidth. Look for servers that have the lowest ping, preferrably under 100. Many more ways that I cannot think of...

I would not reccoment cable if you live in a popultaed area. Everyones shares bandwidth and that makes it very slow. I would say at lest a 1mb connection and a gb of ram for online play, so that you can load the map before the game is over.

that used to happen to me all the time on 1942 in the early days when i had my p4 1.7ghz and 256mbs of ram. Id spend about 15 minutes (no bs) loading DC El Alamein then once it had fiinshed loading it would say "Loading Map Please Wait" for a minute or two, then start loading gazala or something. So it would have been best part of 30mins before i could load a map

I would like to say that I am glad to hear of single player. What would be ideal is single player campaign just like in 1942. Vietnam would be a much better game if they based it on the single player mayhem campaign.....what would even be cooler would be a multiplayer campaign....how cool would that be, especially since it tracks your stats. Learn how to work as a good team...instead of just being thrown into a map that take you a while to lurn the best routes......

As far as the connection and what not. I have a 2 ghz p4...not HT Oc to 2.2 one gig of ram.....a good video card is the best against lag as well...I have a Radeon 9800 pro 256mb......really good card man. I have even used my computer using dial up and it worked ok....but a lot more lag than my Cable Internet Connection. Cable or Dsl.....it really depends on how close you are to the towers...for your connection.....either way!

I'm currently using a 1.4Ghz with 256mb RAM, 40Gig HDD and 1mb/s broadband and you say they WERE the good old days? BF1942 runs terribly on my computer even with every setting on low lol. Maps take around 15 minutes to load on both SP and MP. But luckily I'm getting a new computer ready for BF2:

Pentium 4 550 3.4GHz 800FSB LGA 775 CPU with 1MB Cache

1GB (Fast) DDR400

200GB 7200 8MB cache

Sony CDRW/DVD 52x32x52/16x Combo (Silver)

Gecube Radeon 9800XT 256MB TV-OUT+DVI

17" TFT SILVER/BLACK MULTIMEDIA

Multimedia Keyboard Silver/black & Optical Mouse

3.5" FDD (Silver)

Creative SoundBlaster Live! Player 5.1 (Extra)

Windows XP Home (installed)

muhahahaaha! It's worth it waiting 5 years with a crappy PC to get a nice shiny new PC for BF2 lol.
