the alaska map looks sweet, ill download it.

the sw demo is a 6/10, because it doesnt have everything that they showed (ea ofcourse, wants you to buy the game). but the rocket plane is crazyyyyyyyyy its so cool and, for a new thing for bf, has fuel and can run out!! i think its mostly a kamikaze plane

The rocket plane was actually flown fairly early on during the war;

"The rocket plane was the Me 163 "Komet." It used a motor built by the inventor Hellmuth Walter, which burned hydrogen peroxide as a fuel. Alexander Lippisch, a brilliant aeronautical designer, crafted its streamlined shape. It reached 623 miles per hour (1,003 kilometers per hour) in a test in 1941, twice the speed of most fast fighter planes of the day." <--This is a link, I keep having to put that in incase ppl don't notice.

A typical rocket motor is totally reliant on burning the fuel and lox mix, which gives it a very short flight time compared to conventional jets like the Me 262, which used air as part of the fuel mix. I suppose they didn't want to push the envelope to far and have a rocket powered plain that magicaly never ran out of fuel and could run rings around the allies, tip the balance to much in the axis favour. BTW, do they have the gun that shoots around corners. Unlike the jetpack and rocket plane, it was actually used during the war (but not very succesfully - tended to explode at the most inconvenient time  )

Oh yes, can we please have the Alaska map posted through bf1942files.com, I aint gonna get a user name and password just to download one map. Thanks.

have fun

I E-mailed Alaska to bf1942files but it was either not recieved or not posted.
maybe they'll see it and grab it. I'm hoping to get it on all the major battlefield sites. Getting a username and password takes no time at all, and the map is 30 megs so there's going to be some waiting, anyway. I know all of you that subscribe to the high speed, no wait servers wan't to see my map where they've paid money to get it faster, but I have no control over these things. We'll wait and see if they pick it up.

Ive been working on it but they have that damn 5 minute timeout feature and my shortest wait in line time so far has been 20 minutes!! Frustrating as hell!!!

>EDIT< Finally, its coming down now. :p

The people who will be the least impressed by this map, are those that live in the region...
I'm actually Canadian. I made this map for a number of reasons:

1. Ships, and more ships.

2. When I'd play as the Japanese in the old, Axis and Allies board game (Don't play the PC game), and if things were going my way, I'd send my whole navy to Alaska and just land a whack of infantry there. Maybe build a factory if I survived until my next turn.

3. To prove that I did not, nor will I ever use a random terrain generator.

4. The way battlecraft 1.0 tries to (blend) the textures, doesn't look so hideous with the snowy texture set.

5. When ordered alphabetically, my map appears near the top of the list.

6. Respect.

I just made up those last two, but it fills the page nicely.

Getting it now, I am sure it's worth the download, it looks good, and the layout looks better then a lot of the custom maps available.

have fun
