What is your least favorite map?

I hate Coral Sea,
not enough spawn points,
and without a carrier, its over. :furious:
What maps do you hate?

VonMeyer May 19th, 2003 01:38 PM

Gamefreak May 19th, 2003 05:24 PM

i hate battle of the bulge.:fistpunch: :spank: :smack: :moon: :assimilate:

SgtTallman May 19th, 2003 08:47 PM

Berlin: It could've been so much bigger and better than it was.

Zab May 19th, 2003 08:51 PM

ah, berlin pisses me off!! in dc it is mortar spamming hell! ahhh!! and in s9rm or experience ww2 as they now call it, it is grenade spamming hell!!

kalashnikov May 19th, 2003 09:22 PM

el alamein, becasue it is too big and boring, and gay

city maps suck, berlin and others cant remember. casue they are boring and same scenery.

omaha beach, probally cause it is such a cool map for games but not on this. They have GOT TO take the spawn away from the shoreline, it sucks respawning on a beach. Also it has gay walls, very unrealistic.
towers need to be bigger and higher and their needs wayyy more mg42's plus there needs a proper shingle and some other stuff.

maybe bocage, it kinda sucks.

The only maps i like are islands or maps with water and planes
or one of those.

i dont really like much maps on bf..... but husky is wayyyyyy cool best map i ever played on a game.

abramsnine May 20th, 2003 09:06 AM

I also hate Gazala, too many hills, and it is huge and takes forever to get across the huge gorges.

Captain Kick Ass May 20th, 2003 10:11 AM

i hate kursk.

VonMeyer May 20th, 2003 10:30 AM

Kursk can be like berlin. Loose all the flags and watch the enemy storm your base and spawn kill.

Captain Kick Ass May 20th, 2003 10:48 AM

:agreed

Dr.H8 May 20th, 2003 11:30 AM

battleaxe sucks........i think.

NMS169 May 20th, 2003 12:47 PM

I hate aberdeen, and el alaman. Gazala is not the greatest because it takes too long to cross the huge map

nomad22 May 20th, 2003 03:41 PM

there really aren't that many great levels lol... but omaha realy suxxx like really bad. they could have done sooo much more with that not to forget that machine gunners get sniped every two seconds while the guy in your ship keeps shelling teammates ughh... midway and el are really the best if you are a pilot or a newb in dc trying to kill yourself in a heli... berlins the closed thing to a all ifantry map we have

Astaldo711 May 23rd, 2003 07:30 AM

Iwo Jima. It's a cool map, but I always get my ass kicked when I play allied.
Also, Coral Sea since I'm not a pilot.
Some of the Africa maps can be a pain if you play with wankers that won't pick you up as they zip by in their Jeep. It's a long hike...

WW2BOY May 27th, 2003 08:40 PM

I HATE OPERATION BATTLEAXE!!! TOO SMALL!!

<2nd>rangers May 27th, 2003 09:54 PM

Omaha just because when I got the game i thought it would be like MOH Omaha but it was wried and looked funny...and the funny thing is when i play that map i mostly am number 1 in theat game. I dont no why but i am.

Gamingboy May 28th, 2003 12:12 PM

Omaha because it's just plain old not Omaha beach. See the EWWII mod's rendition of Omaha to know what Omaha beach looked like.

I like maps like Bocage, El Alamein, Gazala and Midway. Tons of open space to fight. El Alamein and Gazala are also good when your playing DC (although I don't play DC much anymore) because there the ONLY default maps that give you a "desert in iraq" feeling.

abramsnine May 29th, 2003 06:25 AM

Yeah, Omaha could have been a lot better,
and Kharkov is also like Kursk and Berlin, }>
once you lose the spawn points, its over.:smack:
:assimilate:

apocalypse_kid May 29th, 2003 07:23 AM

Hmm,

I don't really hate any maps. I only have problems with maps where there aren't enough tanks, me loves tanks.

I don't mind El Alamein in DC cause the vehicles are faster, but I think some criticisms about the size of maps are misplaced.

This for instance. There are only 3 flags that matter in Gazala, and they are all close together, hold them and you have won the game, the fourth is just a quick drive in a tank. If you lose all the flags and have to drive from your base - oh well :lookaround:

But maps like El Alamein are great cause they are large enough to allow two tanks to have a one-on-one face off without those damn choppers getting involved every time like Kursk or Kharkov.

Midway I am not keen on, and the main reason being is that the score system sucks for those maps. Good use of the ships is vital so success, yet the captains rarely get any points, and yeah I know it's about the team winning, but it can seem so pointless cruising about the ocean sinking enemy ships for nothing. I usually try to get on the island, but it doesn't have enough tanks!

I have yet to play on Aberdeen, or the new Inshalla Valley DC map, but I like lost village and 73 Easting (actually I started out not liking 73 Easting but after a few games on it and a chance to work out the tactics I now enjoy it!)

So, to sum up, my least liked map is Midway - My most liked is El Alamein, the city maps are OK, just to small, they should be larger with more capture points.

have fun all

Wish I could agree with that, but in my experience, you can't get much of anywhere without a jet or a helicopter spamming you. I often end up in a tank trying to cap flags and I have to go all Solid Snake with it or end up as a scorch mark in the sand. Now, if you've got some decent pilots on your team and they keep the enemy air forces suppressed, then yes, you can get some good tank dueling, especially for that middle-north point. :D

I'm still at the not liking it point. :p I tend to do all right on Easting, but it seems like I just get spammed no matter where I go by artillery, tanks, whatever. My team usually can't hold a point to save their lives and I can't bunker down in one of the craters and put up a strong defense since I have to be on the move all the time trying to keep both points. Maybe I just don't like it because tanks have always been buggy for me (lots of problems with shell hit detection, no idea why).

Not really sure what's my least favorite map. For DC Stalingrad is one. What's the desert one with the 6 or somethin' flags (not Battleaxe)- don't like that one because it's a pain in the ass to have to hold all those flags in order to get the tickets to drop and I just don't play well there. On the flip side, I love El Alamein.

Well that's the point, man. Allies have to defend the Lexington (carrier) at all costs while the Axis are out to sink it, based off the events of the actual battle where the Lexington was critically wounded and had to be abandoned. Since I like shooting down aircraft I love that map. The only problem with it is too many people aren't bright enough to realize you need a group of engineers to stay aboard the ship and keep repairing it. Here's a link with a quick bit of information about the Coral Sea battle http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/e...a/coralsea.htm You should also watch Midway for a cinematic glimpse at how Coral Sea affected the fight at Midway. It's really fascinating stuff and a good movie. The battle at Midway is also definitely worth researching online sometime for the straight historical facts.

I was never fond of Guadalcanal.
