How do you set up the Joy in BF/DC/RtR ? I have a Micro$soft Sidewinder Precision 2 |
Re: JoySticks - Which is best for BattleField? hahas you guys are all noobs... (jk) obviously the best stick for this kind of action is a Saitek X-45 planes that is... the choppers are best with mouse and keyboard... as for console controllers... consoles were built with digital inputs in mind and so are most games... a console doesent support analog input as well as a pc does, hence all analog console controllers are much cheaper then their pc counterparts. as for the ps2 controller it can be used on pc as well as most other console controllers. if the store deosent sell any adapters u can mak one yourself off one of the many schematics u can find online. to the ps2 pad enthausiast: the only reason ure pad hasnt let you down yet is because ps2 games dont ask for much in the way of analog control. the games are all more of an arcade style nature... hook ure pad up to a pc and try to play any half-way realistic flying or driving game and you will be wanting an analog controller ... as for battlefield... it was made with mouse and keyboard in mind and as such has great support for analog input. what u realy need here is a stick with a good large movement area, the bigger the swing, the bigger the precision. i personaly think that ure better off with a stick when flying planes, especialy the jets of DC. helicopters on the other hand... i have found it quite easy to become skilled with mouse and keyboard... although i have it set up in an unnatural way: i have the ciclyc on my mouse for pitch and keyboard left and right keys for roll and then i have rudder controll on my mouse again, and collective on the keyboard up and down keys. its not very realistic but it has allowed me to lern to do anything upto and including landing in hotzones (although i havent perfected my landings yet) in a matter of hours. i havent tryed helis on stick yet... but i doubt it will be as comfortable as the mouse and keyboard. back to sticks: i have recently bought a Logitech Force 3d and it SUUUUUUUCKS!!!! if any of u are considering buying this, DONT! get the non FF model (mentioned above)instead... seriously the difference is huge. i went back the next day and changed it for a Saitek X-45 wich in my oppinion can be considerd the mayor of sticktown. |
