Sometimes people you play with are so stupid that you almost resort to TK.
Last night at Iwo Jima. We were Axis and pinned on the hill. All other spawns were lost. So It was time for my daily walk on the beach. The best way to break free is to go around all flags straight for the airfield. Because people hardly defend in Public and all spawn/drive to the frontline.
Running on the beach (left side) i got a companion and we manage to get to the hospital. A Tank spawns but there is an enemy soldier closer to the Tank so I decide to lay low. But my companion Rambo III decides it is time to take on the Tank with his 3 grenades and steps out. Luckily the Tank had a lamer inside too and didnt bother to turn and see what ants were 'hiding' in the hospital building.
With no enemy in sight and no indication of a Tank spawn soon I decided to head for the repair plat and go for the flag. Flag turned grey and changed to axis.
I saw a couple of infantry coming towards the airfield and was glad the second Tank spawned. The other dude is there before me and I take cover. He moves towards the enemy soldiers who try to take cover and drop to the ground. To my suprise he drives past them and stops besides a plane, jumps out of the Tank, into the plane and starts his take off. He gets shot a lot by Infantry and 1 second later gets blown to pieces by an enemy who jumped into the Tank he left when going to the plane.
Needless to say the Tank then turned to hunt me down and take the airfield back putting me right up the bloody hill where I started. And then to think that it is a pretty long beach run.

I really hate it when you spawn for the first time on new map and look around for a tank to make hell and they're all parked over by the airfield! Take a frikkin jeep for craps sake, that's what they're for.
I should say, it USED to bother me, since upgrading to Athlon 2200+ and 768Mb DDR Ram I am always the first person there now, on Gazala the other day I captured 2 flags before anybody else turned up! :lol:
Yeah it gets to you sometimes- Ive been so annoyed by another players actions that I feel like killing someone. But you've got to realise there are all sorts of players in the game- first timers, noobs and lamers as well as great players. Everyone would've p**ed off another player before for whatever reason, there's not much that can be done about it. I mean I probably pissed off some players when i first started way back when, trying new things and getting smoked in the process, it's just a fact of online play, you could be playing with an 8 year old or an 80 year old- who knows?
I understand that you have many different people in the game and that is also the fun of it. I dont mind people making mistakes, get blown up, accidently TK me because they are learning the game. Noobs for me arent people who are just getting started but people who keep playing Multiplayer as if it was Singeplayer. Dont like the word Noob anyway.
What I do hate is people who obviously have skills and therefor are not new to the game, who totally disregard teamplay. The event I described above is a lamer not someone who just started to play. He talked in terms of 0wnage and stuff like that. Well he thought he owned that plane for sure.
But there must be other stories like that out there or even worse.
in desert combat everyone spawns in the ac130 and the iraqis quickly take all the bases and make it a very short game. or when you have a complete idiot manning the door position and wont open the door. or you have tkers in the ac130 with dynamite.
I don't know which DC server's you play in but the players in the ones I play in use a bit more common sense than that, usually! I tried spawning in the AC130 once but got bored so don't really ever bother, I would much rather drive my tank. BTW the AC120, if used correctly, can really pin you down in your spawn point, I can recall a few games where it took me half a dozen tried just to get my tank out of the base cause of the AC130.
yeah its the wild tangent 56 player server and there are many noobs and tkers in that server. it takes the fun out of many players. no tactics just chaos and smacktardness. i will find a better server, and you're right when used correctly the ac130 is a deadly adversary.
I was playing a CTF game the other night, speeding happily back to base in my jeep with a captured flag, when all of a sudden I heard planes over head.
Great I thought air support all the way home, but no, these 2 idiots started shooting at me. I informed them I was on there side but they killed me anyway!!!
Whats the point of playing if all you want to do is kill team mates, I wasnt the only one, they annoyed a few other people to.
