Please keep in mind these forums are for the discussion of BF1942 and BF1942 related matters. If it's on the cryengine and called something like CryWW2 it's not exactly BF1942 is it?

What I mean is that wouldn't it be cool to see Battlefield1942 created with CryEngine2. Maybe a mod
And it would only be called CryWW2 if it was made by crytek Someone should buy the license for it and create a wwii game, maybe a new battlefield game.

Then it wouldn't be BF1942, it would be something else. BF1942 is created by DICE and licenced by EA games, unless they were involved you couldn't recreate BF1942, it's illegal, and why would they do that when they already have a perfectly good game in BF1942 (apart from the fact that it is maaaany tears old and has been surpassed by newer games.

A MOD?! A mod for bf1942 using the Cry Engine? Do you know anything about mods and mod making? The essence of a mod is that it is a "modification" of a game that works with the original game. So a mod on the Cry Engine couldn't ppossibly work with the BF1942 engine now could it?

Hmm, like, ooh Quake Wars on the Quake3 Engine? Or maybe Armed Assault on the VBS1 engine, or a number of other upcoming games on different engines. It would require rewriting the entire game from scratch and be a completely pointless exercise and it wouldn't be BF1942, it would be a BF1942 clone on the cryengine.
So my point again, what has this to do with BF1942? The answer - nothing.

You just don't get it... With a mod I meant a mod for CRYSIS. And maybe Dice or EA or something could buy the lincese for cryengine2 and then make a new battlefield game using that engine. Another WWII game, maybe Battlefield1942 2 (or a better name )

You should think before you read.... I think...
Again why? They have Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, three are dozens of mods of BF1942, like DC and etc, and mods for BF2, all based on their own engine designed for the game, with no licence fees required. Each game Engine is designed with particular features designed to better implement the type of game the makers desire, and that enables them to implement those features as easily as possible, using another engine would create limitations and costs the game makers have no need to support. Why would DICE and EA pay extra licence fees to create a game that they already have?
Again, if you want a mod for Crysis you should be in the Crysis forum, NOT the BF1942 forum.
You simply don't get it yourself, this is a forum for BF1942, not a forum for Crysis mods, no matter whether they resemble BF1942, BF2 or BF2142.
