The guns..is it a bug or...something.....

Hey everyone!
Well I just got the game today, and I played all the way past stalingrad and umm.. I don't know if this belongs on the trouble shooting forum or here.. but why is there russians running around with american weapons? and why are americans using British wepons? I mean I KNOW under lend-lease they must have shared weapons but I didn't see many russian smallarms... no brit tanks...and why does the medic have the ASSAULT weapons...the smg? Is that a bug.. or some installation issue? I don't think its a game problem cuz they said in the ads that the game uses accurate historic weapons...

I think the "Historically accurate weapons" thing was aimed towards "Content is historically accurate". The guns and all that existed and all. The arrangements exist as they do for balancing issues. As far as the tanks, I can't think of anything right now o.o

All I need is an answer! It ain't my fault the game greaters scrwed up! Balance seems to me a lame excuse for missing out on really cool weapons!

And Iniog, the russian PPSh.... kicked ass! One of the best SMG's of the war, thats why it was popular with the GERMAN ARMY. THe Maxim was old, but worked and the russian 50cal...well its a 50cal, and any 50cal is scary.

So on the final note... the DICE messed up and..well...does anyone know if they will change this in a patch or something??

I suspect it was done for playability issues. Every extra gun and vehicle in the game will use more memory, and as it is this game requires heaps of memory so if every weapon that was used was made and put in the game we would all need 1Gb of ram to play the game. Perhaps when the next version comes out, and we all have 5Ghz CPU's and Nvidia FX 2's and 2 Gb of memory they'll put more in.

Russianbeer don't listen to Iniog he a small kid with a bad attitude who likes to think he is l337, he calls every one N00b's, i think he just learned the word... Perhaps time for a Moderator to give him a small tap on his fingers to stop insulting people.
as for weapons u have a ponit there are no brit tanks yet we Brits fought like 99% of the war and the yanks joined later on..Though quite a few of the aging brit tanks where rather poo.There is no sten or bren gun either and both where well used by the brit army..

Medics having weapons at all aint exactly right

but if they didnt then no one would be a medic, though must admit don't see many medics about..The medics weapon is less powerfull then the main assault weapon though.
What also bugs me is the idea that a sniper only get 15 rounds..Who on earth would go to war with 15 bullets

Game needs a ammo carrier, some one a bit like an engineer who can re supply u in field...as an Halftrack can't get where the sniper/scout can go...

I do believe that Italian and British tanks are going to be a feature of the expansion pack "Road to Rome". However having recently watched some war doco's about Patton and Montgomery I would rather walk around in my underwear than drive the early british and Italian tanks, at least you are a smaller target and you have just as much chance of the bullets bouncing off you. :lol:

Yep the british Matilda was one hell of a death box.
Tank crews where afraid to go in to war with them as 1 hit and u fried. They where also very high, making a great target..

The Germans on the other hand had some awsome machines.
Was same as the planes to untill the supermarine spitfire came out, but this was at the end of the war..Till then the me109 was bar far the better,ME110's would be nice to i s'pose..and drop the B17's and get the Lancaster bomber in game..

Well german tanks werent as good in the beginning as many people believe. It was more that the allies were simply bad at fighting the german tactics and machines.

It wasnt until Operation Barbarossa that the german flaws became evident and they really had to improve upon their existing machines which created such legendary machines as the Panther, Tiger and the less wellknown but even more effective selfpropelled turretless guns.

British tanks like the Matilda, Churchill etc were infamous for their bad design, underpowered engines etc and allthough the Sherman was far from a good tank at least it was better than the British, French, Canadians etc themselves had manufactured.
