Setting up LAN..
 

hey,cant get LAN to work, i cant remeber how to set one up.i have :
-crossover connecting the two comps
-both comps updated with 1.5(cant dl 1.6 with dial up)

comp#1 comp#2
-ip: 192.168.2.1 ip:192.168.2.2
-subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 subnet:255.255.255.0
-default gateway: 10.10.10.1 gateway:10.10.10.2
-created game with comp#1

can someone tell me what i did wrong.any help would be appreciated.

Hi mate,

Yeah, remove the default Gateway, that's only used to connect a computer to seperate physical network, like connecting your LAN to the Internet they would both go though the same gateway (ie: 10.10.10.1)

At the moment your computers are trying to route their packets through a non-existant third client (and a different one for each computer), and since these clients don't exist the packets are just not going anywhere.
