I have the Gforce4 MX 440 it has 128MB onboard memory and i have 512MB of Ram. it works great i had to upgrade my ram tho it cam with 256MB when i bought it and the battlefield was just a lag fest. I dont know really much about comps but i think it's really good.

I'm a nvidia fan, i just got an FX 5600, 256mb for $350 Canadian. Depends on your budget, from what I know all of the new GeForceFX cards would run it, just the higher model you buy the better it will run. Or any ATI cards from about 9600 up would run it nicely.

I also run a Ti4200 & for the most part it runs just fine at 1024x768 32bit. My system specs are in my sig. I will also agree that you need as much system memory as you can afford. I noticed a major improvement when I added the second stick of 512, got a little better when I added the second drive in the RAID. I usually get 80-100fps on most maps. Not hardly any lag at all.

Pull your pants up, and turn your hat around. You look like an idiot.

Thats surprising Digital Death. My game (amd xp2000. 1024 ddr ram, gf4 ti 4200) only gets laggy on the new maps eg Urban Siege. Prolly another 512 of ram would see no jerkyness for you.

BTW Ic an pick up a basic FX5200 for AU$100 wholesale, a FX5600 for AU$200 wholesale. The FX5700 is next in the Nvdia Range, but don't go below the 5600. As for ATI, yes they do perform better, specially with AA and AF turned up compared to Nvidia, but they cost more, oh yes, and DON'T get the 9200 if you want decent performance.

If you want best performance with Nvidia get a generic 256Mb FX5600 and have 1Gb ram if possible, it does make a difference, specially with map loading.

have fun
