If this were possible then it would lag the crap out of the game as maybe all the other players would have to stop and download the file through you somehow but this would be totally inapproprieate so stuff like this doesn't happen. It's the same way with skins, hell you can skin any texture simply by overriding it with another. This would most likly screw up some of the graphics while you play but it's possible to change the asphalt texture, some mappers have done this and it got into mappacks like CMP4, not good results a lot of ppl got pissed off because the textures screwed up a lot of maps like dm_alley. Mappers override sounds sometimes too, but these problems get fixed as soon as they're found by simply deleting that file that is override orginials.
The constuction of a sound pack is very simple, all you need is a .wav file and you can replace any avp2 sounds with it, only thing make sure that it has the right path of the originial sounds and the name.
Question 2:I've been hearing about this. I don't play single player maps so I'm glad I didn't get this virus. Either the mapper put a virus with his map or someone else attached the virus to the download file. I don't know what the deal is, maye a logic bomb stopping you from playing that map because u d/l it wrong, no clue.
I'll get back to that question with the real answer later. |
