Thanx Deridex, avp2Slasheralien, once again showing me I'm not alone in my thoughts!
But yeah, I'm pretty sure we've covered everyone's ideas now - more than once. I find myself pretty much repeating stuff I've written further back in the topic cos someone new has joined the thread. As a result I think I'm gonna make this my last post on this topic - I'm sure people r sick of me repeating myself.
Besides there's nothing really 'new' being posted and all thats left is to wait till August....

ok let me to give a opinion on this subject... alien is gret film coz of not-showing alien, aliens bets movie coz not-shownig aliens+action+shownig aliens supremency over humans, alien 3 is good film wathever u said coz aliens stays in shadows most of the time and when they are on open area they are shown brefly... but story is bad (very bad) coz newt and hicks shoudnt die :P... alien:RE is the worst movie (craw, story, graphic :P ) and i want to delete it from history... Predator 1 great... Predator 2 whell not so good :\ coz Pred envoriment isnt city... about the film... i am looking foward to it BUT i think they will screwed it up :\ just i am glad that they say that there will be little graphic...
ok last thing... they say "Whoever wins...we lose", it mean nothing coz it dosent says that aliens OR predator are going to win BUT if they do we are gona lose (meaning there will be no allays in game)
i have spoken
It Dosen't Think It Dosen't Feel It Dosen't Eat Or Cry All It Do From Dusk Till Dawn Is Make Soldier Die -Phyrexian- click it is good
Since Aliens is set in the distant future (forgive me for forgetting when) and LV-426 isn't even discovered by humans until the time of Alien
To be realistic, it would seem that the Company already knew something about the alien on LV-426. There's too many things to chock up to coincidence, like the fact that Ash just happend to be onboard for the mission. It is probably that the Company knew something about the Aliens beforehand (Ridley, I think, even suggested that the Nostomo crew was sent in after an official Company crew failed).
Ive noticed, that one of the leading characters name is Charles Bishop Weyland, does this guy have something to do with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, Is he maybe one of the founders of the WY corporation?, and also does he have anything to do with Bishop from aliens?, If your remember the android Bishop was modeled after a real person (which appears at the end of alien3), could he be a distant relative?
He is one of the co-founders, along with Mr. Yutani. From what I understand, he's (the character) slowly dying. As for the human Bishop that created the android series, I don't know. Their last names are different, so it wouldn't be a direct decendant. However, it would explain why someone that makes droids would be allowed in on such a top-secret mission as the one to retrieve Ripley and her queen.
i think bishop in alien 3 is android coz he took hell of a shot of that 75 man with a pipe... no man in real world coud stand on his foots after thet hit
and i think his ear was striped of when he yelled... so i think he IS an android

@Xenomorph
Yeah, forgive me....been a long time since I watched the original. Just reviewed a few scenes on the DVD. Yeah, they do give the impression that they knew about the planet a priori and set down for a reason (given the scene with Ash explaining his mission - and then goes nuts).
However, this was never directly said and presents the question - how did they know about it then (it was outside the outer-rim I seem to remember)?
Ahhh, I think I see the linking now. If Weyland and Yutani are characters within the new AvP movie then it's possible they could learn of LV-426 at some point (for whatever reason) and then, setting up their now infamous company, they preserved the knowledge within the company history until space travel had evolved enough to transport them there. Perhaps.
That would answer a few questions, like how WY knew to go to LV-426 in the first place and why they would have a mention of LV-426 in the new AvP film - that's if they even do (I think bad_religion was the one to say there is)!

Except that the script, the director and the actor all say he was human. Also notice he's bleeding real blood, and sure he took a hit to the head with a lead pipe, but is was 85 who hit him. How strong do you think that pencil-pusher is?

I was thinking more along the lines that they preserve the knowledge, and then in the future they intercept the 'warning' that the derelect ship was transmitting from LV-426. Either they translate what it said or sent in a team prior to the Nostromo, they discovered that the 'alien' information that had been preserved in their archives coincided with the stuff this derelect was carrying. Thus, the expendable Nostromo crew was sent in to retrieve it for them. If you read the character bios (an easter egg found in the title menu of the Alien DVD found in the Alien Legacy) you'll see that they're all missfits. Dallas was cort-martialled and dishonorably discharged from the military, and Ripley sued WY big-time for not giving her maternity leave, after which they gave her a hefty leave and a comfortable pay increase. Brett went through alcohol treatment and suffered brain damage, and Kain was a former druggy. I'd give more info, but I don't have the whole damn thing memorized.
Man, thats cool as funk.
I'm not very experienced with the Easter Egg idea, I know that they're hidden extras u can find on some DVD's but I don't know anything about unlocking them. Have never been bothered finding out before now.
Can u help me out cos I'd like to check those out?
