now that for the most part ive got done what i needed to get done in the RW i come back to you guys with a slight problem. My A1 has staarted to CTD every...15-20 min. Now in my personal mod i have ships and stations from

and several other released materials from various sites
now for the most part everything worked fine but once i added the finishing touches on the redone stock models everything went smoothly, before adding any addition ships stations etc i wanted to add added RAKES WEAPON TEXTURES and so i did but from there on everything went to the crapper and now the CTD problem has become more aggravating . Is there any idea on how to add more stability to A1 an if not does any one know of good weapon textures beside RAKES?

K_merse sorry to do this but 2.....3 days ago i PMed you about the Valiant and lower poly Century conversions to A1. Now as i stated would it be ok if you can export them to A1...if only the SOD and Wireframes. if not Peperman has stated that he would be willing to do it

could we please keep PMs PMs? there is a lot of forum entries lately that work as a kind of public PM for just one guy - and I really dont see a reason for this. if they dont answer to your pm, the chances of getting answer because you go públic may be bigger, but ony because you put pressure on them. the forums have another use. I am not stuff, but I come here for things that may interest me, not specificly another guy.

if you have noticed there are 2 parts to this thread the first being a very real reason to post this thread i just thought i would kill two birds with one stone. Also the pressure has nothing to do with it its just some people might not check PMs. I would also like to say that k_merse has answered me so that point is now mute. Please id rather that the second part only concern the person it was assigned to, by no means were you forced to read it. Now if you would like to give advice focusing on the first part i would more than happy accept it. Thank you

It was a coincidence. I answered the PM before I read this thread. I simply don't check the forum everyday, just like several others here.

Not sure Pepperman knows more about A1 than I do. You said it started with the weapons texture upgrade other than odfs for those weapon or the ships that use them maybe in the AI. Other than that you will need some one smarter than me.

Can we assume that your graphics card is powerful enough to handle all of the changes? Rake's weapons textures use a lot of 256 x 256 graphics textures which could present a problem for lower end machines. It could be a cumulative effort....higher count models with possible heafty texture files themselves combined with increased weapons textures could spell trouble.
I would go back to my last save point (i.e, the point before you added Rake's textures and reverify that she is running smoothly. Then I would add the textures files for one race at a time checking out impact to performance if any.
Rake's weapons textures are some of the best out there so you'll be hard pressed to find nice sets of good quality textures.

.....Well ill just have to manually remove Rakes weapons. I didnt save because t the time i was running low on hard disk space. for now i focus on that and adding mr HQ stuff and see if i can work on it from another computer with the AFC restoration project coming up i could finally carry A1 with me and avoid scratching the disk.....if you know what i mean
