i have not been able to find this game ive herd a little about it is it even a game or just the mod at afc ?

Botf, or Birth of the Federation is a seperate game made by micropose and Hasbro Interactive. More can be viewed here: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/star-trek-b...he-federation/

Its an old game and theres a few mods based on it.

i herd the game was freeware shareware or whatever is that true ?

Yes it is, I think you can download it on Fileplanet or Gamespy. Check there, or just search it.
