Star trek: Armada 3?? (Mod)
 

Well, I'm only 15 and won't be through college for another 8-10 years but I eventually hope to make an Armada 3. I know this seems ridiculous as armada seems to have died at number 2 but by then the new generation won't know a thing anyway. There seems to be so much dedicated modding I'm surprised they haven't resurrected it yet. Anyway, for now I want to try set up a mailing list(which I do not know how to do) about a possible story for armada 3 because, to be frank, the first two sucked. So 8 years of idea exchange and story purification should result in a beautiful story. On top of that we could dig up more Star Trek like ships to put in the 3rd one instead of making up ships for a strategy game's sake. I know the federation has a frigate(from the series, not Mad Doc's "Aegian class") so making one up was unnecessary. Also, the Klingons and the Romulans had a brief alliance and as such shared the D7 frigate design. The romulans also had a bird-of-prey which never featured. I also hope to introduce multiplayer recruitable heroes and proper to-scale ships and stations. Docking( garrisoning to RTS fans) would be nice too. Just general exchange of ideas, really.

Its good to have goals/ambitions in life, however, (hoping I dont destroy your dream) have you heard of two little things called "Legacy" and "Tactical Assault" ????, in some ways they are the doctor who of A2 (its new regeneration), but if you have a dream/goal, I say go for it, and be preapred to take feedback ..........

sounds like a great idea/goal i almost went to collage to become a graphic arts designer and make video game.. but makeing a fictional guy wield a weapon of some kind was not my calling...... weilding one of my own is...

There is no need to make Star Trek Armada 3 because Star Trek Legacy is Armada 3 in a way. It will be like between Star Trek Armada 2 and Star Trek Starfleet Command 3. Mad Doc is making Star Trek Legacy and it will be release this September for the Xbox 360 and PC. My dream was making Star Trek Online because I thought of a MMORPG for Star Trek when I was playing Everquest that when I got the idea from but they already started it. I thought of it before they started working on Star Trek Online but I won't get the credit for it.

Hmmm. I had ideas about an online game based on the Marvel universe in the year prior to Everquest being released, but I can't be sure my ideas weren't spawned by something I might have heard (and not remembered) about its development.

It IS worth mentioning that (while they were very basic) my ideas had much of the same general functionality of many of the MMORPGs.

Still, I like to think I came up with it on my own.

Anyway, if you want to make something, don't let anything stop you. The magic of creation is that whatever you make belongs to you. Pure and totally.

The point of me ever making it would be to make a proper armada. But legacy is an RPG and I want a proper star trek RTS. I still want to make games though.
