Default A flawed Plot?

Should the plot of Armada II really have been focused on the sudden invasion of the Alpha Quadrant by Species 8472? I was online looking at the Star Trek website and noticed that in the Voyager Episode In the Flesh Janeway had made sort of an peace with species 8472. That was on Stardate 52136.4 and the First Armada II mission was on Stardate 54522.2. If I was reading correctly the mis-understanding between 8472 and the Federation was resolved. Any input?

You're right, if anything 8472 should have left the Feds alone.

Unfortunatley, the game has nothing to do with Star Trek canon, and is in it's own separate universe.

That's what I thought. Granted they probably wanted to fit species 8472 into the plot somehow, in my opinion their execution of that could have been better. The Borg however are a constant threat to the Federation and it's allies.

What makes you say, 'own seperate universe'?

I think, by that he means that Trek (what we know is canon) is in one universe and non-canon is in another. maybe the word 'universe' wasn't the correct wor to use, but that is what he used nontheless.

Yeah, well, I tend to avoid the canon\non-canon arguments, they can get dirty.

they could come up with a well thought out explanation though.for instance, 8472 secretly stole information from voyager about the creation of a temperal vortex and used it to back to before janeway made the peace deal and there choose to ignore it due to the fact that it hadn't been made yet. either that or it's just another inconsistensy in the plot.

Well, I mean, If it isn't said how, In my opinion, it is much better to gather your own conclusion from the parts they don't specify on.
