Yeah, I always wondered about uncertain factors. For example, what about Q? He could easily have rescued Data. Or the highly unlikely chance that Data survived the blast. In fact, well I can't say anything without ruining parts of the book Titan: Taking Wing. And then of course there is the fact you could have used the transporter off of a shuttlecraft to possibly save him.

Always a possiblilty... Maybe StarTrek will make a come back.
Hopefully not involving the Borg, well then again that might make it interesting.
What do you mean "a come back". What would that era be? After Nemesis?

How about just TNG time (or ten years later) with another ship? and we don't have to fling it out to the zeta quadrant.

Better yet, get two more ships, just like Picard's, ten years later, throw in another non-emotional character (this time instead of a Vulcan or Robot, make 'it' an emotionless [again] abused woman (who ENJOYS sex this time) who couldn't care less about anything 'except the facts'.

'Captain, the replicators are inaccurate by .00132% ... and we're under attack.'

I felt the 'Borg' were not SF because there was no explanation for most of what they did. The 'adapted' usually with no explanation as to what they did to adapt. How, exactly, did they 'out think' the humans?

Contrast with General Chang of The Undiscovered Country.

In fact, new rule: All new Klingons have to be smart like General Chang, have better military tactics, enjoy defeat.

I mean, I love M. Dorn, the hardest working actor in the Galaxy, but they made his Klingon not very bright. Chang quoted Shakespear, twirlled around in the Captain's chair, signalled photon shots with two air-taps of his fingers in the air and was VERY comfortable with what and who he was.

Why don't they have smart enemies? (instead of 'Borg' who just magically repair themselves using morph photography? and does it REALLY make sense to let your enemies beam abord? Yes, if you want to make your race zombies with their arms hung forward... why couldn't they ONCE use those lazers??? aren't the enemies who can THINK more of an interest?

The Romulons always promised to be a 'smart' enemy, just triple their intelligence, have them in logic battles with our Vulcans, and only let a real genius human from time to time rise above them, not just because we are ethical and love mankind...

I'd love a new TNG era ship (or two) and just kill off a few crew every year like Law and Order so you can afford the actors' scale and keep the show going.

all that in your first post? wow, i think mine was a line or two long...

i like the idea of a new ship and crew. My idea was a bridge commander movie, course they would have to change it abit due to the fact thats data's dead.

true, but nemesis is the last tng era film, and the theme for most of tng was data trying to become more human. and the greatest sacrifice a human can make is to give your life for your friends.
