Armada 2 Carriers & Starfighters

Who else out there wants to see some well done Carriers and Fighters for Armada 2? How about the Typhoon, or maybe a Bengal, a Battlestar or a Basestar? And what about some Valkyries, or some Rapiers or Vipers or maybe even some Raiders? If you want to see some Carriers and Fighters for Armada 2, and you have some ideas or good reference pics please post it here.

I tried to talk to Draconis about his Valkyries, but he didn't tell me much. Draconis, if you read this, my email is wolf_dragoon01@hotmail.com please email me the Valkyrie fighter files, and if you can't, could you please email me a link to the place where you got them? Thanks.

i like the sound of a carrior but i think the game needs proper battleships.

Say u could start with the usual ships for your chosen race but u would have a battleship as well JUST ONE and they would be too big to add to a ship yard so you can only have 1

YES! Battlestars, Basestars, Vipers and Raiders oh my. Lol, I have wanted them for ever... if no one else makes them, I'll try, but it's gonna be a while as my other projects must be completed first.

Also, I need to learn how to model (not to mention getting the requisite modeling program).

Well, the Sovereign X mod is sort of a carrier, in that it allows you to construct actual fighters and send them on their way, but it doesn't allow them to dock with the ship.

As I understand it, there's a mod for ST: Bridge Commander that is a carrier (looks something like an Ambassador kit-bash -- I'll have to look it up). It could be possible to reconfigure the files and make it Armada compatiable (I myself personally can't do this since I inadvertantly destroyed all of my modding programs; long story, don't ask).

Oh no, it's Space: Above and Beyond for me, The Saratoga, and many squadrons of SA-43 hammerheads. And maybe throw some chigs in the mix for target practice, lol.

there is one problem with this thought, proper launching and retriving of fighters isnt possible in A2. The closest thing you can get to it is the drone weapon, but the problem with that is the fighters act more like work bees then fighters... sorry if this bursted anyones bubble. On an up note, I did do a version of the new Basestar, but there is some problems with the mesh and texture.

i'm all for carriers and fighters and such but think about it. As E_Omega states

this is a major factor (obviously) and in order to make it work properly you have to turn the game into a HOMEWORLD style in order to get it done. acctually i think they've done that for homeworld anyway...
