Not sure if it can do this, but also duplicate the layer, and apply a gaussian blur of about 3.0, then set the blend mode to overlay/soft ligh. Wichever one looks best.

I like it.
There's a few thing I'd personally change, among others maybe make it shorter and smaller overall. But that's just me not being a fan of big stuff.
And most of all, that forcefully added bar on the outermost left.
It lacks the lightning that is in the rest of emptier areas and as thus everyone can se the error on it.
/me likes the text.
But you could have implemented a bit more of the greenish mist, like you have between the text and eyes.

First things first - next time find a higher quality image to work with.
Another further recomendation. There's no need with working with the whole render as you have.
It would have been enough and possibly better to have a larger image which would only be from the shoulders up instead of the whole chest as well.

If you did that, you could have smudged the sword away, as it breaks the whole flow of the sig.

And most of all, the sig feels very zaggy, very incomplete somehow, and it also feels like a sig which could benefit from some wel placed text.

As it is, it has a number of very common beginner problems.

a) The sheer size of the thing. It's just too big.
b) Text that does not fit in stylewise (the font, colors etc - not the actual wording)
c) too many, too stretched focals.
d) a lacking depth and those white bars.

But you did at least make an attempt to try and blend them in to some extent.

Also it could use a border.
I just recommend you go to dev art and read up on a few GIMP sig tutorials.

Yep, one can clearly feel progress with you. If I remember correctly this evne is one of the slightly older ones correct?
THe blending is defintely heading forwards, as is the depth flow and other things.
Still need some work, but definitely very good headway.
Just compare it to your first ones

It doesn't really look like much.
Just a screenshot with some text slapped on the sides.
As it is - 2/10
There's no focal or depth and even less flow.
And the cutting out on the right side is far from perfect.

It's nice you tried to work in the c4d to go along his legs as it does.
The truth is, that the white sonic guy/gal is still not blended in and seems superimposed.
And the text while blended is just way too big and steals away the focal.

And a border would be nice.

I hope people don't mind my ratings. I just to be a harder in the gradient than in the rate my sig thread. I guess it's just fitting for the gradient.
