{New Feature} FileFront.com gets a makeover

It's very nice, I like the simplistic look rather than the old, somewhat tacky style.

That being said, it feels too simple and therefore, unprofessional - there should be some system of tables implemented to help guide the eye through different items. Whether it's a slight change in shade or actual lines.

Also, this may be my ad-blocker speaking - but I do feel like there is too much blank space right in the middle of the page where there could be content.


Edit: After disabling my Ad Blocker the entire site got better. The ads actually serve as useful tables, separators and outlines. Very clever design on the part of whoever did this.

Also, I noticed that there are tables between each topic, however I still think that they should be slightly, just slightly more pronounced.

There is no gigantic image of the Hoff anywhere in sight. This update sucks.

(in that regard, at least. I think the colour scheme could be slightly tweaked the grey space above a user's post doesn't look too hot. maybe a ligher shade of the blue bar above it?)

The new site looks nice, good work.

Here are a few suggestions that might make it even nicer: The "developers host your stuff for free"-box looks a bit ugly, but I guess it is supposed to stick out like that.
Maybe keeping this message as a sort of permanent announcement in a line on top of the site would be just as easy to spot but look better.

The space over the Gaming Today Latest Headlines seems to be empty, maybe it is supposed to be that way for future ads but if it isn't you could move the gamingtoday and forums-link boxes to the right into the now empty space and the top-games-box up so that you could see more information at a first glance.

The ad next to the "developers host your stuff"-box sometimes shows a "you've got one message" text which looks due to its position as if it is part of Filefront rather than an ad. Not sure if that is possible, but moving all ads to the sides of the actual site would improve its looks a bit and might not be as confusing for those who have problems telling an ad from Filefront content.

Last but not least, the old site had some links that showed the latest files according to category. I thought it was practical to be able to browse the last few demos, right now I can't find such a link.


Overall the website looks much more modern and streamlined than the old one though.

Use the search tool. If you're looking for the latest demos that were released, simply type in 'demos' or 'demo' in the search bar and it should pull all of the latest ones from the most recent downward.

That's a nice search-tool you have there. It even switches to "files" automatically if I type in demo.

Any way to split the FH from the FF forums? Seems to be a lot of duplicate threads on similar topics between our respective members.
