But hey, let me ask you supermods and mods something:what's with the vetting process? I mean, I guess I can understand why we needed to undergo the background check, but isn't "Ex-Feds" a kind of unusual name for a top security-check firm to use? I guess I understand that FF needs to be sure my finances are in order, but did they really need my passwords? And to all my credit- and debit-cards? I guess I even understand why the new mods have to fund the semi-annual staff retreats - I suppose my turn will come one day.

But could someone explain to me why I had to be able to run under a 6:00 mile, bench >300 lbs. and demonstrate the safest and best technique for skinning a deer...and all in the nude?

I'm not complaining, mind you. It just feels a little much for a job which only pays $50k annually. BTW, when should I expect my first check?

You're right on the finance part - the continued "contributions" of the staff keep the hot tub in the staff forum, the weed supply in the supermod forum and the poledancing club in the admin forum running.

As for the physical test...well, it was implemented to make sure mods weren't in fact aliens mixing in with the population in order to steal all the bacon in the world. We managed to capture one, once, and learned a great deal about them.

As for your payment....no one told you they'd be Zimbabwe Dolllars, did they?

Welcome to the staff, jumjum. Paychecks are handled by Dread, so if you send him a hug, maybe he'll be more inclined to write yours out sooner. :)
