| Final Update on Nazi Imagery We are fully aware that recent times have seen a lot of debate and change regarding the status of Nazi imagery in avatars and signatures. A new rule was implemented only to be retracted later and thus causing confusing amongst the members and the staff. We know how strongly people feel about this but we have to have some clear rules on the area. Much of the confusion was caused by miscommunications between the senior staff and some confusion about who did that. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you all and agree it that is has not been handled in the best way. We have now had a meeting where we discussed this issue, and we have reached a solution after a long debate and careful considerations regarding what kind of imagery is allowed on Gaming Forums. We hope everybody will respect our decision concerning these final rules, and they are as follows: - No swastikas in clearly visible positions (details such as insignia or medals on uniforms are acceptable) - No SS insignias (neither the runes nor the skull) - No pictures showing leading figureheads of the Nazi regime (this does not include army commanders such as Field Marshall Rommel or Admiral Dönitz) - No caricatures of the above (this includes President Bush and others displayed as Hitler) - No obvious propaganda images (such as idealistic soldier images and Nazi propaganda posters) - Furthermore, the normal guidelines apply. If a fellow member is offended by your signature or avatar, you may be requested to change it. These rules are for signatures and avatars, and it is of course still allowed to show these images in threads regarding historical topics. These rules are final and are not open for debate. They will be put in effect immediately, and on Wednesday the 9th of March will the staff begin to remove signatures and images which violate the rules. Members who violate the signature/avatar guidelines may have their ability to have a signature and an avatar permissions revoked permanently. If you are unsure if you signature falls within these rules, just contact a Super Moderator who will answer your questions. Thank you for your understanding. The Gaming Forums Administration (Old announcement copied here for technical reasons)
