Well, I am going to say you would have to ask an admin because I truly don't know how the interest system works, or if it is working for others at all. I can tell you one thing, you have to wait a lot longer than a day before you gain interest.
I don't know about that. It would be slightly better if you could get it to calculate the size of the post you made. Obviously just saying "Lol" is less of a post than a well thought out opinion in the pub that takes some time to read.
Then again, those who make really good posts tend to care less about what you can do in the store. In the end I think the current system works best. I really didn't like the idea of the store at first, mainly because I thought it would end up abused with people trying to flame each other through custom titles and banning people for no reason. I have yet to see any of this happen so I am all for the store.
Oh I absoloutely agree. Keep it. Yea, it's a good idea to make it calculate how long your post is, or even to give you, say, 2 points per 50 letters or something.
But do you get points if you post in Spamming Forum or anything?

I don't think so. But rember karma is tied to the points now. So fo every point of karma you get you also get 5 Store pts. Now the only thing worth buying it the cahge cutom title
My opinion is, that you should only have the store add something to the site, not take certain things away. That way, people who aren't interested won't be affected, and those who are can indulge themselves. Some people aren't interested in the darned thing, yet they are now being forced to buy a title which they used to be able to use freely. Your title is actually useful, for example, if you're on holiday you can make sure everyone knows by changing your title accordingly. Either lower the price of the title to next to nothing, or just make it as it once was. Now that you can't buy your way into AM, and the standard members can't go around brandishing colours and tricking n00bs into thinking they're mods, I have no other complaints with the store.
