I own a Mac and I think it is soooo inconsiderate when people release things in .exe format, from maker of AOE3MODS I would like all the files WITHOUT a windows installer, send them to me in a zip and for future refrence, be nice to the Mac users of this world

well I do absolutely hate the mac thats why I get Dell or Alien ware since im in collage the laptops work best for me so I use that. I also upgrade ever year such as currently I have windows vista on a computer ive had for four years. I also despise some of the thing in AoE 2 such as when you use max pop of 200 even on good computers it lags like theres no tomorrow.

Relax, it's easy to open exe's on Macs, all you need to do is right-cli-

Can you actually open normal zip files on the mac? I noticed that all zip files that are mac compatible tend to have an extra empty MAC OSX_ folder inside them.

As to your original question - to be honest more people benefit from the installer than those who don't.
The installer will benefit a giant number of people who tend to have a problem reasing readme's. Trust me, it's a load of people and they manage to fumble even clear instructions.
On another note, I doubt most people even know that there's an AOEII for the mac.
Now I'm sure if you actually asked the mod creator nicely, he'd send you the zip file. Or maybe you could ask someone to install it on a windows machine and zip it up and send it your way. But like I said, try to tone it down a bit.

Also can't you install in parallels, or the mac version of WINE (I know there was one) and then just copy it over?
