Yeah, the Teutons aren't the right thing for the Germans...Also Age of Empires is missing a lot of things. They just use the Byzantines as the Romans, when the Byzantines were only the Eastern Roman Empire. Also the French are the Franks, which is ok I suppose. Thats not really that wrong..But however I don't really get the whole Goths stuff...I don't even know how the Goths are...I think there should be Germans(HRE), Germans(Barbarians), Hungarians, French/Franks, English, Romans(West), Vikings, Woats(Scottish), Saxons, Spanish, Moores, Egyptians, Palestinians..?(Or a different name), Turks, Persians, Greeks, Byzantines/East Romans, Indians(India), Huns, Mongols, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Aztec, Maya, and as a nice addition Age of Empires could stretch into modern times, like Rise of Nations, and I prefer the RON age system too. Some good factions to add, would be Americans, Canadians, and Aussies/Nzers(Using english as US/Commonwealth does not work), Russians would be good to have, Yugoslavic contries(Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro), Israel too, ofc they would only be available in 1948. Having all of those countries, a highly realtic age system dating from oh 500BC-2010 would be excellent. I also would like it to be technology specific, e.g Germany r teh pwnzorz in WW1 and WW2 and USA are teh pwnzorz now. Obviously in multiplayer you'd have to develope some sort of system to balance it out. Up until 1600s its relatively equal, there was mo empire that out teched everyone like crazy with the exception of the Romans. But once things get more modern obviously some countries were shit. Lol. But anyway. This is my idea of what AoE4 should be like.

The Franks are actually the kingdom of France, the Eastern Frankish Empire (later HRE) and the kingdom Lotharingia.

Do you mean "who"? You don't know who the Goths were?
The founders of the Spanish kingdom (Visigoths) and conquerors of Rome! They're one of the most important tribes.

You mean perhaps Syrians but they would basically be the same as the Egyptians, so adding them wouldn't make much sense.
Adding the Persians wouldn't make much sense either because they were no military force to reckon with in the European Middle Ages.

Are you trying to make AoE the same as Empire Earth?

Uhm... no. The Egyptians were superior because of their chariots at their time, so were the Greek because of their organization, formation, a.s.o.
Also, the Muslim countries were superior in technology in the European Middle Ages.
Any Japanese army would have easily kicked a medieval European army's ass simply because (except for England and armies not relying mainly on "chivalric values") they used bow and arrow extensively.

But only by their use of bow and arrow because I believe their swords would not have been very effective against chain mails.
